Introduction

This project is about "House construction" project management plan. The

project management plan covers different aspects of house development

project. The first thing discloses in the paper is project background and

objectives. It will serve as a guide for the readers to understand the scenario

of the whole project. Moreover, it also covers the role of its key deliverables

and stakeholders. The roles and responsibilities of project team members are

discussed in respect of project key deliverables. Moreover, the paper also

covers an important part of project management plan which is project time

management. The main motive behind the discussion of project time

management is to understand project work breakdown structure, Gantt chart,

network diagram and critical path as well. At last, the project covers the

budget and quality plan for the project. All these aspects are studied under

the study of previous research sources. Moreover, the project time

management and project budget are prepared through the use of advanced

software which is MS project and MS Excel. Both of these tools are an

important source of the plan the overall schedule of a particular project.

Project Background and Objectives

Project Background

The project is about the preparation of a complete house at Oman City. The

premises shall be handed over to the owner no later than 1st August 2019.

The contract price for the project will remain OMR 130,000. Generally, the

house will prepare as per the requirements of the owner. It will include a

ground floor with four different rooms, one kitchen, and one washroom set.

Apart from this, it will also include construction of the first floor with 3

different rooms and one set of the kitchen as well as washrooms. The house

will properly cover with latest tiles and appropriate design and structure. It

will involve the ground works, materials, structure, project management,

interior, services, signoff, and exterior systems. Moreover, it also has a pool

and garden for the entertainment of family members.

Project Objectives

The project objective is to prepare a well-organized house Design

Complete the project on 30th July 2019.

Accomplish the project within the budget of OMR 130,000.

Project Team Members and their key roles

The project involves a large number of project team members. It is because

the home needs to construct within the one year from its initial starting date.

The key project team member involved in the project is following:

Owner: The owner is the person who responsible for the whole management

and evaluation of his or her house. The owner will sponsor the Housing

construction team members to build his or her house (Alwan, 2017). He or

she will remain responsible for providing necessary funds.

Design-Builder: These are the team members who will remain responsible

for the overall structural design of the project and will oversee the activities

done by the labor and another person.

Architect: The architect will prepare the effective blueprint of the owner

house so that he or she can live effectively with all facilities.

Civil Engineer: These are the individual who directly responsible for the

evaluation of construction work. They will guide the team members in

performing their tasks and responsibilities (Banihashemi, 2017). This group

involves electrical, structural, project manager, mechanics, and various other

people.

Landscape: The landscaping team is responsible for landscaping task. It

involves the construction of yard, garden and pool which will perform by plan

mechanics, and other labors (Clevenger, 2017).

Project Stages and Key Deliverables

The project stages and its key deliverables can understand with the help of

the 4D model of project management. It is an exciting and appropriate

concept for the management of housing and other complex projects

(Burtonshaw-Gunn, 2017).

Define

The "Housing Construction" project is conducted with a sole aim of prepares

an attractive and best design house with the presence of a garden, pool, and

two different floors. It will start on the 1st of May 2018 and finish on 30th July

2019. It will consume the construction process of one year and three months.

In order to accomplish the project as per predetermined timeline, the project

management team will keep strict towards their goals and deadline as well.

Design

The design of the house will be unique and different from other nearby

houses. The project will integrate with following design:

Spacious kitchen with plenty of storage

Creation of keeping rooms

Master bath

Bedroom on both floors (Mubarak, 2015)

Covers entrance

Attractive design pool with best tiles

Garden with plenty of plants

Development

The project development will perform as per the below-mentioned procedure:

From the above-mentioned figure, it can clarify that the implementation

process of the house will proceed accordingly. The contractor will remain

responsible for the continuous evaluation of Groundworks, materials,

structure, and project management procedure of the project so that any

delay can avoid effectively (Marsh, 2015).

Deliver

The project delivery will perform by sharing the project quality and progress

report (Merschbrock, 2015). It will give surety to the client about the project

specifications. At this stage, the owner takes the responsibility of his or her

home and makes necessary payments if anything left.

Project Time Management

Work Breakdown Structure

Mubarak (2015) said that the work breakdown structure represents the

overall activity involved in the accomplishment of a project. The work

breakdown structure for "Housing Construction" project is prepared through

the use of advanced software known as MS Project. It is an important method

of preparing work breakdown structure with required specifications

(Merschbrock, 2015). The work breakdown structure for housing construction

On the basis of the above-mentioned project schedule, it can clearly

understand that the project can finish within the predetermined budget. It

will consume the total cost of OMR128, 600.

Project Quality Plan

Project Quality Responsibilities

The project owner delegated the project quality responsibility to

management levels of the project. In order to construct a good house, the

project contractor, supervisory team, and engineering manager will remain

responsible. The project contractor will ensure that the project outcomes

effectively represent the owner specifications (Kerzner, 2018). On the other

hand, the project manager will oversee the speed, efficiency, and economical

completion of the overall project to avoid any unnecessary delay. Moreover,

the engineering manager will ensure the project quality by continuous

evaluation of project execution plan, construction process, and engineering

codes and standards (Nicholas, 2017).

and breakdown schedule (Tedla, 2018).

Comparison of project outcomes against standard Criteria: Here, the

project outcomes will compare the above-mentioned standard criteria

to find any problem.

On the basis of the above-mentioned analysis, it can be concluded that the


success chances of the project are high than its failure. It is because the
owner needs not to hire a big team for its management. Moreover, the
project schedule and budget structure should effectively follow by the team
to avoid any unnecessary delay and cost overrun problem. This will enhance
the quality of generated project outcomes.
