Chapter 3:
Research Methodology

20
3.1 Meaning of Research Methodology:

A research methodology is a sample framework or a plan for study

that is used as a guide for conducting research. It is a blueprint that is
followed in processing research work. Thus in good research methodology
the line of action has to be chosen carefully from various alternatives.

RESEARCH DESIGN

A research design is the arrangement of conditions for the

collection of data and analysis of data. In fact research design is the
conceptual structure within which research is conducted.
Descriptive Research Design has been used by me to
solve each and every factor of given task. In the descriptive research study,
the main purpose is that of formulating a problem for more precise
investigation or of developing the working hypothesis forms an operational
point of view. The major emphasis is on the discovery of ideas and in sights.

Questionnaires
Typically, a questionnaire is a paper-and-pencil instrument that is administered to
the respondents. The usual questions found in questionnaires are closed-ended
questions, which are followed by response options. However, there are
questionnaires that ask open- ended questions to explore the answers of the
respondents.
Questionnaires have been developed over the years. Today, questionnaires are
utilized in various survey methods, according to how they are given. These
methods include the self-administered, the group- administered, and the household
drop-off .Among the three, the self- administered survey method is often used by
researchers nowadays. The self-administered questionnaires are widely known
as the mail survey method. However, since the response rates related to mail
surveys had gone low, questionnaires are now commonly administered

21
Online, as in the form of web surveys.
