Annex 1: Research Plan: Personal Information

This research plan proposes a project with the goals of understanding the objectives and context of the state-of-the-art in the chosen field, describing the proposed methodology in detail, and outlining the team and resources available. The applicant is asked to provide information on the broad context and importance of the research, the concrete goals and methodology to achieve them, and the expected impact. A four page research plan must then specify the objectives in the context of the current state of knowledge in the field, describe the proposed methodology and dissemination plan, and account for the qualifications of the team and resources available to complete the project.

Objective and state-of-the-art

the-art in the field. Outline the project and indicate how and why the project is important for the field,
and what impact it will have if successful.

Methodology

intermediate goals (milestones - a Gantt chart could be used). Highlight any intermediate stages
where results may require adjustments to the project planning (risk and contingency plan). Outline a
dissemination plan (e.g. conferences, publications). Explain and justify the methodology in relation to
the state-of-the-art, including any particularly novel or unconventional aspects.

Resources
