GUIDELINES FOR REPORT WRITING

(Research based Project)

A ORDER OF REPORT CONTENTS

1. Title Page
2. Declaration from Student
3. Certificate from Guide (Faculty/Industry)
4. Acknowledgment
5. Abstract/Executive Summary
6. Table of Contents
7. List of Tables
8. List of Figures
9. Main Body of the Report
10. References
11. Appendices

B PAGE NUMBERS
1. Page should be numbered consecutively and clearly.
2. No page number should be indicated on Title Page, Certificate from Guide,
Declaration from Student and Acknowledgment, however pages are to counted from
title page.
3. From Title Page to Abstract page Greek numbers should be used.
4. From main text to end of the report Indian numerals should be used.
5. Appendices should be numbered using Arabic Numerals (Ex. Appendix I, Appendix
II)

C MARGINS
Left : 1.25 inch
Right : 0.75 inch
Top : 1.0 inch
Bottom : 1.0 inch

D FONT
Font : Times New Roman
Font Size : 12pt for Text
12/13/14pt for Subheadings
16pt for Main headings
Line Spacing : 1.5
Text Alignment : Justified for body of text
Centre for Chapter Headings
Justified for Subheadings
No Underlining of text is allowed in the report.

E TEXT NUMBERING
The following format may be followed for numbering: -

1. Heading1 (16 pt, Bold)


1.1 Heading2 (14 pt, Bold)
1.1.1 Heading3 (13 pt, Bold)
1.1.1.1 Heading4 (12 pt, Bold)

F SUBMISSION
1. Number of copies to be submitted
Two hard bind copies of the final report need to be submitted.

2. Project binding
The Copy for Evaluation must be HARD BOUND and the contents be embossed
in silver on the front of the copy.

3. Submission of Soft Copy


A soft copy of the final project report duly seen, approved by the guide must be
submitted in MS Word/PDF format.

G REFERENCES
References must be cited in standard APA Format. The references would be written in
alphabetical order.
