a) What was Sniffles’ mother tired of? What did she say to Sniffles?
Ans: Sniffles’ mother was tired of Sniffles always shedding big crocodile tears.
She told him to stop crying and also asked him to go out for hunting his food.

b) Why did the other crocodiles laugh at Sniffles?


Ans: Sniffles was big and strong but he did not want to kill other animals. Punch
was small and weak but she said that she would punch others in their face. Other
crocodiles laughed at this funny pair of friends.

c) How did the crocodiles save themselves when the men came with guns?
Ans: The crocodiles went deep into the river and left some rotten logs floating on
the water. The men shot at the logs which looked like crocodiles from a distance.

d) How did the crocodiles save the butterflies when the men arrived with nets?
Ans: All the crocodiles came to the riverbank. A few of the crocodiles circled
around the men as they came closer. When the men saw crocodile snap their jaws,
they became scared and ran away.

e) Why do you think Sniffles was given that name?


Ans: Sniffles was given that name because he was always shedding big crocodile
tears and sniffling.
