1. Title: Hybrid Solar-Wind Charging Station For Electric Vehicle And Its
Simulation
2. Introduction

Electric vehicles play an important role in energy saving and emission reduction of Green
house gases. Power stations are the power supply places for electric vehicles. The
electricity of the power station is supplied by power grid traditionally. A power station
with solar wind hybrid system can save energy and reduce greenhouse emission more
deeply. This solar-wind hybrid system is to be used to provide electricity to a small
electric vehicle in Caofeidian, Tangshan. The voltage for charging the vehicle is
320V,and the current is 30A. It takes three hours to charge the vehicle before it is full.
The whole energy used to charge the vehicle is 30 kW·h, so the hybrid system must
generate at least the same amount of electricity in a single day. Usually, the electric
vehicle is charged at night, so the PV module can generate electricity at daytime andstore
them in the batteries, and at last provide them to the vehicle at night. The parameters to be
determined was the number of PV modules, the altitude angle of PV modules, the
azimuth of PV modules, the number of wind turbines, the height of wind turbines and the
capacity of batteries. In order to optimize the configurations of the hybrid system, loss of
power supply probability (LPSP) [1] method was used to determine the parameters
above. This method was based on the output of PV modules and wind turbines and the
performance of the batteries, calculated the energy provided by the whole system,
compared itwith the desired energy, and finally found the configurations that achieved
the demand energy. Then, the costs of every configuration were calculated and the
optimal point was found.

The paper outlines various factors affecting the solar module efficiency. The authors
consider the dependence of the solar module operation on insolation and temperature.
The temperature increases the degradation of the solar modules during the operation time,
determines technical characteristics and the efficiency of the modules, which decreases as
the temperature increases. Using the Matlab Simulink program the authors have
developed a model of an autonomous solar power plant. The model considers the
relationship between the heating temperature of solar modules and their efficiency during
operation. The model provides an option of selecting solar module makes, the number of
modules and their connection circuits. Depending on a solar module make the
corresponding current and voltage parameters are automatically set. When the model
operates, the batteries connected to the solar modules are charged and the inverter
converts DC into AC.

This paper elobrate Large-scale network has the characteristics of complex system, and
its survivability is different from simple network. The current network survivability
studies usually only aim for a specific network level or type, and seldom investigate
survivability from a system perspective. In this paper, the concept of large-scale network
survivability is defined from the perspective of complex system, the survivability
association is analyzed based upon the correlation characteristics of complex system, and
the structural model of large-scale network survivability association is established and its

2
properties are analyzed. On the basis of survivability association properties, the
survivability association function is defined based upon set pair analysis theory, which is
utilized to characterize the survivability association degree among subsystems in large-
scale network. Finally, the effectiveness of the model proposed in this paper is validated
through case study.

Electric vehicles offer many advantages ranging from easy access and abundance of
electrical energy sources. The objective of this paper is to obtain the best configuration of
the hybrid power systems for charging station in a rural area such as Labuan bajo,
Indonesia. Thus, the best configuration obtained is then installing with three types of
energy storage namely Lead Acid and UNS Lithium battery such as Lithium Ion and
Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) to determine the minimum cost of operation and energy
cost in a year. The results showed by implementing hybrid systems from PV and DER is
the best configuration for off grid charging station. The most optimal battery in off grid
system achieved by installing UNS LFP batteries. As a conclusion, by utilizing hybrid
power generation technology, the potential for renewable energy in rural areas can be the
main key in realizing the availability of charging stations in rural areas with affordable
price for supporting electric vehicles infrastructure.

.This paper demonstrates an electric vehicle charging station that benefits from
renewable energy sources. Although renewable energy sources, such as wind and
solar energy, have been popular due to their environment friendly energy production

3
procedures, they also exhibit some disadvantages. These issues increase the
number of studies on hybrid renewable energy systems and distributed electricity
generation, which aim to minimize these disadvantages. Thus, the designed station
is intended to make use of wind and solar power, while retaining the connection with
electrical grid for emergency cases. Various conditions constituting different cases
and scenarios are taken into consideration.

This Paper explain Charging station, as one of the most important aspects of electric
vehicle industry, must be able to adapt the fast development of electric vehicles. In
this work, a hybrid solar-wind powered charging station was designed to provide
electricity for the electric vehicles according to the wind and solar condition of the
coastal areas in Tangshan. The key components including wind turbines, PV
modules, batteries, an inverter and other controllers were considered. In order to
determine the capacities of the components, LPSP was used as a control condition
to obtain the configurations achieving the demand energy and the costs of every
configuration as the other control condition were calculated to optimize the system.
At last, the minimum-cost configuration achieving the demand energy was found as
the result of the designation.

connected inverters for photovoltaic modules,” IEEE Trans. Ind. Electron., vol. 41, no. 5,
pp. 1292–1306, Sep./Oct. 2005 on inverter technologies for connecting photovoltaic (PV)
modules to a single-phase grid. The inverters are categorized into four classifications: 1)
the number of power processing stages in cascade; 2) the type of power decoupling
between the PV module(s) and the single-phase grid; 3) whether they utilize a
transformer (either line or high frequency) or not; and 4) the type of grid-connected
power stage. Various inverter topologies are presented, compared, and evaluated against

4
demands, lifetime, component ratings, and cost. Finally, some of the topologies are
pointed out as the best candidates for either single PV module or multiple PV module.

4. Problem Formulation
4.1) Existing System
Exiting system with Solar based charging stations available for electrical vehicles .
Research is currently underway. When designing solar power station many different
factors are taken into account: installation location, annual solar insolation, tilt angle of
modules, number of solar modules, ambient temperature, shading, natural cooling of
modules. The number of solar modules directly determines the efficiency of a solar
power station . A large number of modules will increase their operating area [9]. Solar
modules convert solar radiation directly into electricity through a photovoltaic effect.
This is a silent and clean process that does not require movement of parts. The
photoelectric effect is a semiconductor effect in which solar radiation getting on the
semiconductor photocells creates the movement of electrons. Photovoltaic cells convert
solar energy into direct current.
The amount of solar radiation falling on the Earth does not depend on human activity.
Even if this parameter is taken into account when choosing the location of the power
plant, only solar based Charging Station Not fulfill all requirement so design hybrid
charging station for electric Vehicles.

incorporate both solar panels and wind power as an option
