Job Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Senior Tailings Engineer to join our Lima, Peru office.
Responsibilities include:
* Contributing to the development of a business plan for mine waste management services in Peru.
* Providing engineering services with respect to mine waste management and task management.
* Carrying out the design of tailings storage facilities, from conceptual through detailed design stages.
* Carrying out and overseeing design analyses, including slope stability, seepage, water balance, surface
water and groundwater.
* Client liaison.
* Preparing and delivering technical reports and overseeing others input to technical reports.
* Audits and review of compliance.
* Providing leadership and focus to key efforts in mine waste business development across the region with
expectation to become the regional practice leader in 2016.
Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
* 20+ years experience
* Bachelor degree or similar in civil, geotechnical or environmental engineering. Postgraduate qualification
in geotechnical engineering or area related to tailings management would be an advantage.
* Registered Chartered/Professional Engineer or Member of a related professional body
*
Exposure to mining and/or industrial waste management or related civil engineering fields. Consulting
experience will be well regarded;
* Good analytical and problem solving skills;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Good time management ability;
* Project Management skills;
* Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills;
* Proven capabilities, working efficiently in project teams as both contributor and leader;
* Several years of relevant practical experience;
* Demonstrable commitment to safety

Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates will possess a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in civil, geotechnical, geological, or mining
engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering. Some prior experience in the civil, geological,
or mining engineering fields are a plus.
The candidate shall have:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent analytical abilities, leadership
ability, and a positive attitude;
* Ability to work both independently and within groups;
* Competence in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is necessary;
* FE/EIT or PE registration (or ability to obtain EIT within 1 year) required.
Qualified candidates will have excellent technical competency and skills to perform:
* Complex settlement calculations;
* Liquefaction analysis and seismic design;
* Determinations of material strength and permeability;
* Seepage analysis;
* Slope stability evaluations;
* Soil filter, pipe crushing, and other geotechnical design calculations;
* Deep and shallow foundations design;
* MSE and reinforced slope design;
* Soil-nail and tie-back soldier pile wall design.

Dominio de MS Project.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor of Science degree in mining, mechanical, or civil engineering from an
accredited institution.
2. Experience in site development, construction and stone/sand and gravel
processing a plus.
3. Experience in AggQC, AutoCAD, Excel and Word is highly preferred.
4. Ability to communicate clear and concise instructions in a professional manner.
5. Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA laws.
6. Experience with site permitting (stormwater, NPDES, air quality, etc.), mine
planning and land surveying a plus.
7. Valid driver’s license

Requisitos:
Dirigida a profesional orientado a los resultados, organizado y planificado, autónomo, proactivo y con una alta
capacidad de análisis. A su vez, debe contar con habilidades interpersonales que le permitan liderar equipos de
trabajo y comunicarse de forma efectiva.
Ingeniero Civil de Mina o carrera afín.
10 años de experencia en el area de Ingenieria de Mina en minería subterranea y al menos 3 años en cargos
similares.
Conocimientos en evaluación de proyectos, estimación de recursos y reservas.
Conocimientos Autodesk o Autocad (nivel intermedio), GEMS.
Conocimientos Project (nivel intermedio).
Manejo de inglés oral y escrito (nivel intermedio).
Licencia de conducir Tipo B.
Disponibilidad para trabajar turno 4x3
Con residencia o disponibilidad para cambiar de residencia a la XI Región.
