PAST PARTICIPLES

1- Look at the following examples then answer the questions:

 Our parents write a letter for my cousin.


Our parents wrote a letter for my cousin yesterday.
Our parents have written many letters for my cousin since last week.

 Karoline takes classes with Miss. Almanzar


Karoline took classes with Miss. Almanzar
Karoline has taken classes with Miss. Almanzar since January.

 We watch tv every day.


We watched tv last night.
We have watched a lot of tv today.

What do you notice that happens in all the sets of sentences?

in the first sentence he speaks of an action that happened in the past but
that still continues to happen, in the second he speaks of a third action of
the past and that has already ended; in the third he talks about something
that has happened in the present.

Why do you think that happens?


because there are different ways of using verbs depending on the
context.

2- Study the following information:

When you studied the simple past, you learned that there are two groups
of verbs: Regular (the ones that follow rules) and Irregular (the ones you
memorize).
We will also use regular and irregular verbs for some complex grammar
tenses and topics, that is why we need to study and memorize a third
column of the irregular verbs, this column is called PAST PARTICIPLE
FORM.

LOOK at the document attached with the name ´´simple past irregular
verbs´´ and take a look at the verbs.

3- Follow this link to practice the verbs (complete exercises 1, 2, 3, 4)

If you want or need, you can repeat the exercises, so you can memorize
the verbs better.

4- Using the document ´´simple past irregular verbs´´ and the following

5- Call one of your classmates on whatsapp and practice the verbs
together. (One mentions the base form and the other has to say what the
past participle form is). DO NOT CHEAT!
