CA7 COMMANDS 1

CA7 Information
CA7 commands

CA7 controls and runs all production jobs on a mainframe. The jobs are
either triggered by other jobs or schedule scanned in and executed. CA-7
flags any jobs that terminate unsuccessfully or terminate due to an
unapproved condition code.

ARTS CA7 restart instructions.
ACT This status means the job is active or executing.
CALENDARS: ROLL=F Forward, D-Drop, N-Never mind, B-Backwards

DB Database
DBM Database manager
DEMAND,SET=NTR,JOB=XXXXXX Demand in job XXXXXX and do not trigger any
dependent jobs.

triggered for schedule 01. The job will come out on hold in CA7

LJOB,LIST=DEPJ,JOB=XXXXXX List jobs dependent job XXXXXX to complete.
LJOB,LIST=RQMT,JOB=XXXXXX List the requirements left for job XXXXXX.
LJOB,LIST=TRIG,JOB=XXXXXX List jobs that trigger job XXXXXX and jobs
that are triggered by it.
LPRNN,LIST=ALL,JOB=XXXXXX List the last date and time job XXXXXX was
executed.

LQ List the late Q.


LQ,JOB=XXXXXX Display a job with requirements.
LQ,SEQ=JOB List all active jobs, plus all jobs waiting to execute in
alphabetical order.
LQ,ST=SKEL List the skelaton Q.

LREQ List jobs in the request Q.
LRLOG,DATE=*
LRLOG,LIST=RSTR List jobs that were restarted within the last 24 hours.
LSCHD,JOB=* List all scheduled jobs.
NRDAY=01 Next relative working day.
RDY This job status usually means the job is waiting for an initiator.
REQ This job status means the job is waiting for a requirement to be met
before it can start.
REQUEUE,JOB=XXXXXX Use when job XXXXXX is suspended between CA7 and TSO,
usually due to a JCL error.
RDAY=01 Relative working day.
QM 1 Q Maintenance.
SCHD,JOB SCHD,JTRG SEQ=JOB When added to any command, jobs appear in
alphabetical order. Without this, jobs will be displayed first with jobs
that are waiting to be executed and then with jobs that are active.
SKELETON The JCL for the job could not be found in the designated
library and the job must be requeued.
SR Save and Replace changes made in CA7.
SSCAN SCHEDULE SCAN
SSCAN,SCAN=HLD This makes all jobs submitted by CA7 to be submitted on
hold.
SSCAN,SCAN=REL This makes all jobs submitted by CA7 to be submitted not
on hold.
ST=ABND
ST=HELD
ST=LATE
ST=MANV
ST=RSTR
START,Q=ALL Start all the Q's
STOP,Q=ALL Stop all the Q's
XQJ List all jobs waiting to run. The jobs are either waiting on another
job to finish executing or are waiting on a time to start.
XQJCL
XQM Job requirements.
XQM,LIST=ALL Job requirements and skeletons.

XQJ List jobs waiting on a predesessor job or a start time to run. Put
the cursor next to the job and enter:
C Cancel the job.
E Edit the JCL.
F Restart the job that abended.
H Put the job on hold.
X Post requirements for the job or see what requirements the job has to
meet..

3. JOB NAME On the member line.
4. JCL-ID Number where the job is pulled in from.
5. FETCH SUCCESSFULL Should be on the bottom of the screen if the fetch
worked.
6. QJCL
7. REPL On the function line to replace the old JCL.
8. JOB NAME On the job line.
9. REPLACE SUCCESSFULL Should be on the bottom of the screen.
10. RESTART the job with the new JCL in CA7.

JCL, FETCH, JOB NAME, 123, FETCH SUCCESSFUL, QJCL, REPL, JOB NAME,
REPLACE SUCCESSFUL, RESTART.
