Training & Development Manager

Summary:

To assess and develop employee skills up to a level that will ensure achievement of
business objectives determined by a mine with worl class standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Finalise Career Development paths for all job families at the company.
• Do assessments to determine the gaps between skills required and current skills.
• Determine Human Resource Development priorities.
• Contribute to the finalisation of Human Resource Development strategy.
• Assessment and finalising of a Human Resource Development plan in cooperation
with any Technical Training Managers on site.
• Implementation of the approved Human Resource Development strategy and plan as
per agreed on objectives.
• Ensuring off Expats Skills Transfer plans before filling of a position with an expatriate.
• Monitoring of progress in terms of Expat Skills Transfer plans.
• Provide inputs to a Human Resource Development budget.
• Contribute to, implement and maintain standards linked to Human Resource
Development (HRD) policies and processes.
• Assess current, find new and implement tools to determine if employees or
prospective employees possess the skills required to achieve the objectives linked to
positions to be filled and to assess skills of current employees i.e. Psychometric
tests, leadership assessments, structured questionnaires to measure technical
knowledge, tools like simulators to test current ability, etc.
• Work closely with recruitment staff.
• Play an active role in succession planning and related strategies such as having a
talent pool, attracting talent, retention strategies, etc.
• Liaise with central training institutions
• Liaise with tertiary institution for the development of leadership programs
• Find and make agreements with external training providers as required.
• Manage and improve the training facilities.
• Contribute to finding and implementation of an electronic Human Resource
Development in order to deal with the following:

• Relevant Bachelor Degree
• Minimum 10 Years in a similar position and location
• Leadership & Management Skills
• Training Instructor Skills

Salary: USD Market Related
Roster: FIFO Roster 6 weeks on 2 weeks off
