1. Web Content

Web content are contents written for websites.

Examples of web content are products, services, about us, contact us, why us, who we are among
many others.

Qualities of Web content

Written in a sales pitch

Usually in first person

Ranges from 200 to 500 words

2. Landing Pages

A landing page is a web content with a strong or heavy sales pitch. Visitors visiting a website land in
this page first so as to be wooed into buying products and services that a company offers.

Landing pages are of very high quality and avoids mentioning disadvantages of using that product or
service being sold. A landing page is similar to an advert on a Television networks.

3. Blog Posts

As the word suggests, blog posts are posted on blogs.

Characteristics of Blog Posts

Word count ranges from as low as 100 words to as high as 2000 words

Blog posts are of high quality; meaning that they are generally well-researched and informative

The main purpose of a blog post is to attract visitors to a website or blog, with the intention of
making them buy a product or service. Others are written to generate traffic to a blog for the purposes
of generating revenue through Advertisements.

4. Guest Posts

Guest posts are blog posts. The difference, however, is that they are written by another blogger and
posted on the blog of another blogger. The blogger who writes the content and publishes it on
another blogger’s blog is called a guest, and the act of writing and posting there is called guest
blogging.

Usually 400 to 2000 words

High quality and very informative

Purpose of Guest Blogging

To generate traffic to his/her blog from another blogger’s blog

To build his/her reputation as a freelance writer or an expert in that field

Guest posts saves the owner of the blog time needed to write blog posts as this is done by guest
bloggers

5. Product descriptions

Product descriptions are descriptions offered by companies and their affiliates.

They are generally short and have word count that ranges from 30 words to 350 words.

6. Press Release

Press releases are in form of news, and adopt a sales tone in most cases.

They introduce a product or service to the market.

Press releases are therefore written when a company launches a product or service, and its purpose is
to inform potential and existing clients everything about the product.

They are Usually 400 to 700 words.

7. Company Profiles

Company profiles describe a company, its location, services, contact details, owner, and employees
among others.

Company profiles are usually short.

Have a word range of between 100 to 350 words.
