a) ‘nature is more important than nurture in explaining human behavior’

There are two sociological perspective on cultures as well as humans’ behavior, one of them
is the Nature’s perspective. Nature looks at biological explanation, this could include looking
at the genetic makeup, gender features or behavior that you might inherit from your family. A
sociobiologists named Desmond Morris (1968) argue that biology helps in shaping culture. It
is because he believes sharing culture is based on the inbuilt or genetic need to continue the
life of the social group overtime. For an example, when an individual dies, the culture will
still remain the same that is because culture is inbuilt in humans, genetic. Culture is
fundamental to our life as it creates identification of social group in society.

Sociologist believe that intelligence difference is mainly genetically inherited which means
something that people are born with. Sociologist estimated between 60 to 80 percent of
intelligence is genetically based. There are many different types of intelligence, some people
are born smarter than the others or some people had the ability to do this one task example
puzzle but couldn’t do the other task. Sociologists believes that people inherit intelligence
from their parents which means if the parents have high IQ level then the child will be
intelligent. Jensen (1973) is more cautious when he suggests ‘genetic factors may play a part
in this picture’. However, he does argue that there is better evidence for the influence of
genes on educational attainment than there is for the influence of environmental factors.

Crime is any behavior that goes against the law (law-breaking behavior) . Some people are
born with a desire of committing crimes. An Italian doctor who works for the italian army
named Cesare Lombroso (1835-1909) believed that criminals share common physical
characteristic, and to prove this he set about measuring and quantifying certain physical
features. Similar to that, Lombroso (1876) concluded that criminals have example bushy
eyebrows, large ears, beak-like noses and so on. He also believed that they are genetically
abnormal.

Biological factor play more crucial role in shaping behavior . Every humans’ behavior are
predictable this proves that humans are naturally born with their behavior. Nature gives us
strong hints about behavioural rules but people are free to ignore these hints. As an evidence,
E.wilson believes that it is natural for men to be more ‘promiscuous’ than women due to
women’s biological role in rearing and bearing child because inbuilt biological drives and
programming. For intelligence, as I mentioned at the above it is mostly innate
Ability which means ability possessed at birth, by meaning when the parent are intelligence
so does the child will. As a proof, Burt says that people are wealthy due to their ‘natural
intelligence’ but not ‘intelligent’ because of wealth. For crime, as I mention some people are
born with desire of doing crimes, this was believed or studied by Wilson and Hernstein
(1985)
. In conclusion, biological factor play more crucial role in shaping behaviour .
