gE Type UFX 132 eal Over fluxing relay ABB Substation Automation Products ABB Type UFX 132 Over fluxing relay Features: ‘© Single-pole relay in 1 deep Dio case ‘© Pick-up value adjustable in V/iH2 © Wide setting range © Wide frequency range Application ‘This relay is used to protect generator transformer against excessive flux (‘overfluxing") preventing the same from a thermal hazard that causes saturation of the iron core and hence high a.c. losses. It can be used to protect generators while running up or down, also against the effects of excessive flux density resulting from faulty operation by the voltage regulator. It protects generators and transformers operating with variable frequency against excessive flux densityit offers protection inthe event of sudden toad shedding. Design & Principle The relay UFX 132 is of modular construction. The voltage is galvanically isolated from the input transformer fz. The frequency-dependent signal is produced by an RC filter. The voltage at the capacitor is, directly proportional to the ratio U : f (in V/Hz). This voltage is then fed to a trigger. The reference value can bbe set in fine or coarse steps by means of ea andea2, Connection diagram the two being additive. Furthermore, the setting can be shifted by 2 V/Hz by means of ea3. Ifthe peak value of the signal exceeds the set reference voltage, the trigger ‘output becomes active and energizes the drop- out time- lag stage iv that produces a continuous signal from the narrow pulse at the output. The inverter that follows can be selected for min. or max. with the soldered link, thus creating either an undervottage or an overvoltage link. Normally it is connected for overvoltage. The joint connection to the soldered link energizes the input tothe timer t as well as the output amplifier for starting, the later being electronic and applied via a contact to terminals. When the relay starts, the electronic output raverts to OV. The timer can be adjusted in 10 steps (et). Its output, via a transistor, actuates the tripping contactor da and tripping indicator ha which remains It until a reset ‘command is given by br, or the external resetting input (only in module) is revertbd to OV. ‘The reset signal simultaneously acts as a lamp or LED tester. The input Be 1/13 can be usedto externally block the relay; it becomes effective when set o zero potential (available only in module). {f a positive potential is applied to input 1/19 (20-30 V from test switch), the relay can be easily tested by pressing the test button bp. For the undervottage variant OV has to be applied instead of + 24 V for testing. The outputs 1/7 and 1/5 are ‘only intended for testing and must not have any other voltage applied. i Isolating transformer Test button Fine adjustment Coarse adjustment ‘Addition switch Time-tag setting Connection for testing electronic circuits Stabilizer Drop-out-time-lag jin Overvoltage/ Undervottage links trip indicator Tripping contactor trip indicator Start Extemal start External block External reset Reset button @ Ragegge Boras i gD 2 ‘Block diagram for UFX132 module 0c To oc CONVERTOR ELECTRONIC MEASURING & Loci ‘rcuiT ‘Drop-out time ‘Aundliary voltage ‘Consumption at 30 V/48-250 vde ‘Temperature range : to maintain data to function reliably 2-400 V 10 H2-100 Hz 0.1V/Hz « 2.0 Viz. 2.1 Vittz « 4.0 Viz 200V = 2ViHz xt 400 V = 4V/Hz xf 45 xt = 450V at 100 Hz 0.35 VA at 1 Viz 100 V 1 VA at2 V/Hz 200 V 2.3 VA at 3 Viz 300 V 4 VA at 4 Viz 400 V + 2% of setting + 3% of setting £1% 298% 0.58-58 O.18-1s 2200 ms 30 VDC or 48-250 VDC at rest 2 1VA, on tripping 2 3VA “°C to + 45°C 20°C to + 60°C 2 KV Hz 1 min Test voltage 5 KVA.2/50 ps 2.5 KV/1 MHz Rep. 400 Hz Indicator contactor (starting) Reed, with 1 N/O contact ~ Contact rating 4OW/ 15 VA/ 1 Av0.74 ~ /220V ~ 150 V_ = Tripping contactor 3.
