Resources for Resources for TVET Managers and Policy-Makers

In a matter of weeks, coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed the world of work and the sphere of
learning and development. It has challenged individuals, employers and workers to adapt to online
modalities in all spheres of life. If you are a TVET Manager or Principal aiming to introduce
distance and technology-supported programs in your institution/s, the sources below might be
helpful. Most of these resources are ‘open access’, but haven’t been created by the ILO, so we
can’t guarantee the quality or the relevance to your individual needs.

Know what other countries and TVET institutions are doing. Observe, adapt and implement!
Online Platform Description
World Bank The World Bank is actively working with governments in
various countries to catalogue emerging approaches, by
country, in an internal database.
UNESCO You can find a repository of national learning platforms and
tools available by various countries on the website.

ILO/CINTERFOR Click here to find out more about what NVTI in Latin America,
the Caribbean, Spain, Cape Verde and Portugal, members of
the ILO/Cinterfor Network are doing in the field of distance
learning.

You can also find a list of online courses and digital resources
available by various vocational training institutions in the
region. Please click here. Some of these are open access
platforms while others require access credentials.

TESDA Online Program The TESDA Online Program is an open educational resource
that aims to make technical education more accessible.

TVET Academy Specific courses to boost employability skills in hospitality


sector and construction work. Provides inspiration and
information on how to create your own TVET academy.
Commonwealth of Learning Provides a comprehensive list of online resources for policy
makers, teachers and trainers at all levels and in different
sectors of education.

Learn about the available online tools and applications that can be used for organising
online teaching/learning at TVET
UNESCO has compiled a succinct list providing links to various ‘digital learning management
systems’, ‘mobile applications’, ‘tools for teachers’ and ‘online collaborative platforms’. Click
here to access the list. UNESCO-UNEVOC also has various resources on aspects of online
teaching during COVID-19.
