Fracture Mechanics - Simulation Lab Course Handout

This document outlines the scope, objectives, learning outcomes, experiments, and evaluation scheme for a fracture mechanics simulation lab course. The lab aims to support fracture mechanics theory learning through simulations of crack propagation and fatigue life prediction using Franc3D software. Students will perform 8 crack growth tutorials and analysis to determine critical crack lengths and remaining component life. Students will be evaluated based on tutorial quiz scores, a lab examination, and an assignment report summarizing their tutorial results.
