wish to provide their customers with a branded WiFi experience that
enables data capture, customer engagement, analytics and reporting,

PORTAL EDITOR
The Captivnet portal editor is designed so that venues can easily set up and edit their portal. From here venue managers
can create multiple portals where they can choose how guests login to the network and assign it to time of day, room, or
geolocation.
The interface is easy to use with helpful instructions to aid the user even if they have no prior experience in HTML web design.
Guest Journey
Captivnet allows venue managers to choose and customise which captive portal pages and login methods are presented
guests. We know that most users want to get online as quickly as possible, with the least amount of form filling and friction.
That’s why we have designed our system to get guests online with ease. Our login options include email, one click, social, and
auto-connect, where return visitors connect automatically as soon as they walk in.
For each new and returning visitor that connects to the system, we collect data such as email address, device details - including
MAC address, number of previous visits, publicly available demographic data (if social login is selected), and the other venues
visited in the same group or chain.
The data collected can be seen in graphic report form, exported into CSV, and more importantly is available via our API. By
augmenting the information already stored in the central database with the WiFi data, enables organisations to create a single
guest profile. By integrating with marketing platforms, CRM, PMS, and guest engagement apps, triggered actions can occur
such as sending welcome emails, notifying staff when guests arrive, or personalising information displayed on screens. The
sky’s the limit.
GUEST & VISITOR
ENGAGEMENT
Targeted campaigns can be created and automated based on visitor and guest location or dwell time within the premises,
user profile information and contextual data, such as gender or age group, visit recurrence, or simple welcome messages as
users login to the WiFi network. All of the contact data collected can be exported via CSV, or integrated via the API, directly
into existing email marketing platforms, CRM systems, and other engagement applications. The data can be used for ongoing
marketing campaigns and to gain insight into how external marketing campaigns affect visits to the venue. This is made
possible by matching WiFi user data with campaign recipients.
Without the log in form data, or if users do not share information about themselves on social media, the ability to collect
valuable data is lost. Guests are more likely to share this information if they are asked for it as part of a questionnaire, if they
feel they have something they wish to share, or if there is an incentive to do so.
In addition to the above, targeted messages can also be triggered based on the answers and results of the feedback from or
questionnaire to either the user or an alert to the venue managers. This feature is invaluable for recovering guest satisfaction
ratings if problems can be identified and dealt with swiftly. The tool can also be used to trigger rewards for completing the
survey.

LOCATION BASED
SERVICES
With supported hardware, Captivnet can be used to provide rich insight into how visitors and guests interact with the physical
space of the venue, store, or hotel.
Floor plans can be uploaded into the Captivnet platform and the precise location of the WiFi access points can be plotted onto
the map. Each zone at the site can be marked out and labelled accordingly, allowing detailed reports that highlight precisely
how visitors and their devices move through the space, and where they dwell. The reports show authenticated users and
anonymous devices. This is particularly useful for generating more accurate footfall counts.
Email marketing messages and SMS can be triggered based on the user location or as they roam through the property.
Information and promotions can be delivered in realtime and be relevant to their surroundings. In an exhibition space, this
information could relate to what is on in the specific hall they have entered. In a retail environment, this could be offers and
promotions relative to the department where they are located.
Operational efficiencies
Notifications and webhooks can be set to alert staff, or trigger actions in other business systems, to improve services and
operational efficiencies. For example, if there is a number of people forming a queue in a particular zone, an alert can be sent
to management to deploy additional staff or open extra desks. With webhooks and API integrations, the possibilities of what
can be achieved are truly endless, from dynamically updating digital signage an based on user profiles, right through to alerting
managers when a VIP enters the building.
CONFERENCE TOOL
With our conference manager tool, event organisers can offer secure and
encrypted WIFi that is simple to administer. SSIDs can be personalised for
specific events and can provide monetisation options. Multiple conferences
and events can be catered for, each having their own private network
allocated to their own rooms, halls and zones. The bandwidth can be set to
accommodate the number of expected users ensuring a consistent quality
of service for all attendees.
Login pages, custom SSIDs, and URL redirects can be created and allocated
to each event, providing sponsorship opportunities where 3rd parties or
event organisers can promote their brand and content.
With the event schedule tool, conferences and their specific requirements
can be created in advance and set to automatically activate on the day of
the conference.
After the event, organisers can see usage reports, monitor how the network
performed, view location data, and export user contact details.
PERSONAL AREA
NETWORKS
The Personal Area Networking (PAN) feature is designed mainly for Hotels
and multi-tenant buildings to replicate as closely as possible a home WiFi
type service. Most people are now familiar with creating their own WiFi
“name” (SSID) and password (PSK) for their home network, PAN lets them
simply replicate that environment in their hotel room or apartment and thus
use their own technology to create that at home experience. If the hotel has
installed devices such as Apple TV or Chromecast in the rooms, then these
can seamlessly become available to the guest as part of their network
without the need for them to enter any personal information on the in-room
Apple TV box or do any further setup.
If available, they could use the same SSID and password that they use at
home and make connecting their devices to the PAN seamless. The SSID
and password is stored in their guest profile so that it is automatically
activated the next time they visit a hotel from the same chain. When
a guest roams from the PAN to the standard WiFi network they are
immediately recognized and authenticated.
Benefits
• Guest have their own personal SSID no matter which hotel they visit
• The guest’s devices work just like at home allowing them to instantly
connect when they arrive
• Better in-room entertainment
• Guests would no longer need to rely on using the traditional remote
control hotel TV entertainment systems
• Guests can cast their on-line media to the room smart TV, or connect
their gaming console
• Increased satisfaction from having a better WiFi experience
• API - connect to other platforms and share data to enable a better and
personalized digital experience for residents
