Board of Director:-

1. Chairman

Mr. Ahmed Sohail Fasihur Rahman is the founder and Chairman of Beximco Pharma. He is
one of the distinguished business personality of our country. He has received many awards
for his outstanding contribution to our country’s industrial development. He is also a member
of the board of North South University Foundation.

2. Vice Chairman

Mr. Salman Fazlur Rahman MP is best known as the co-founder and vice chairman of
Beximco Pharma. He is also an industrialist, philanthropist and politician of Bangladesh. He
took the key initiative that have helped to build Beximco’s corporate identity at home and
abroad and make the corporation one of the leading industrial conglomerate in the country.
3. Managing Director

Mr. Nazmul Hassan MP is the Managing Director of Beximco Pharma. He is also the
director of the bord of Bangladesh Antibiotic industries LTD, Independent Television and
Padma Mining and Energy Limited. Mr. Hassan is curently the presedent of Bangladesh
Association of Pharmaceutical industries (BAPI).

4. Director

Mr. Osman Kaiser Chowdhury is involved with Beximco group over 39 years and is
currently working as a director of group Finance and Corporate Affairs, chief Executive
officer of beximco power Ltd. and Beximco Engineering Ltd.
5. Director

Mr. Abu Bakar Siddiqur Rahman has over 47 years of experiences in trading, jute, textiles,
pharmaceuticals and other sectors and hold senior positions at a number of entities within the
Beximco Group.

6. Director

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed has been a part of Beximco Group since 1972 and holds senior positions in
a number of entities within the companies. He has over 47 years of experiences in trading,
jute, textile, pharmaceuticals, engineering and IT sectors. He has been in the board of
Beximco Pharma since 1985.
7. Independent Director

Dr. Abdur Rahman Khan is an old board member of Beximco Pharma. He is a very senior
and prominent physician in Bangladesh. He was the chief consultant physician and professor
of medicine, BIRDEM.

Organogram:-

Beximco Pharma has a three- tier management structure, Board of director, the executive
committee and the management committee. There is also an audit committee.

BPL use extensive departmentalization to operate their business throughout the world. The
business activities of BPL is centralized, it means the company is directed, controlled and
monitored from the head office of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Being a leading
pharmaceutical company of our country it has a large number of employs, those who are
working in different departments effectively and efficiently to keep its business growing. The

Management Issues:-
Beximco Pharmaceutical Ltd. is one of the leading company of our county. They follow
extensive departmentalization structure to operate their business. All the major decision of the
company are taken by the head office of BPL, that mean all the business activity of BPL is
centralized. Because of this centralized decision making process and large size of the
organization the company face some management issues which is not good for a leading
company like BPL. Those issues BPL’s manager faces are:

Energy of Manager:-
Because of their organizational structure the span of control of a manager in BPL is very big.
Each and every top manager have to maintain a big number of employee. To make himself a role
model he never get angry or seems tensed about any problem. The manager behave politely and
do his work very smoothly. Other may mistake this quality as his lake of interest for the job or
for the organization. Sometime employees take advantage of this behavior and do whatever they
want to do.

Standards of Performance:-
In BPL the manager took too much pressure and responsibility. The span of control of a manager
is BPL is very big, so the manager have to work a lot. He gives his best effort sometime more
than best to keep the organization moving. This attitude may one day make him realized that he
in underpaid for all the efforts and that might kill his interest for the job.

Late in decision making:-


Beximco Pharma follow the centralized decision making process. There are lots of procedure and
rules for the employees and they are bound to follow those procedure and rules for every single
work. Because of all those things the manager have to take permissions from the head office for
every single decisions. Which may took lot of time to take a small decision and that is a very big
problem for a leading organization like Beximco.

Control of Detail:-
In BPL every single decision make from the head office, specifically from the top level
managers. So once evaluating an employee’s skill and assigning a job for him/her, the manager
leaves that employee to his/her team to handle. This may cause a problem for the team members
to evaluate as it was the manager who assigned the employee not the team members
