The BDK Time Delay Releasable Rope Socket (TDR) provides a safe, reliable means of releasing a stuck toolstring by allowing the operator to simply slack off the wireline for a predetermined time, leaving a clean fishing neck downhole for future operations. The TDR can also be used as a soft release tool to deploy gauges and other delicate instruments without needing presetting or calibration. Utilizing a hydraulic metering system, the TDR can operate in a wide range of conditions up to 200°C and 10,000 PSI.
