ACUCA STUDENT MOBILITY SCHEME


Reply Proforma
Established in 2002, the ACUCA Student Mobility Scheme aims to foster a better understanding of Asian
communities and cultures among ACUCA students. Under the Scheme, member institutions that have courses taught
in English in either regular semester or summer sessions will exchange tuition waivers to enable students to study
tuition-free at an institution outside of their own country for a semester or during the summer. ACUCA assistance will
come in the form of an airfare subsidy.

Students are allowed take courses from minimum 9 credits to maximum 21 credits
1 credit is 1 hour’s workload per one week.

In general, one course requires 3 credits of workload at Hannam.


Students take 3 to 7 courses per semester.

Students are allowed to take most of the courses offered at Hannam both in English and Korean courses and
about 63 English taught courses are offered per semester.

VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS

International students are required to obtain D-2 student visa from the embassy or the consulate of the Republic of
Korea in order to stay in Korea for more than 90 days.
Students need the following documents to file for a student visa:

(1) Certificate of admission (Issued by HNU)


(2) Invitation letter (Issued by HNU)

(3) Tuition exemption letter (Issued by HNU)
(4) Visa application (The application form is available at http://www.hikorea.go.kr.)
(5) Valid Passport
(6) Bank statement (A minimum of 2,500 USD for living expenses including housing fee)
(7) Two portrait photos (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) (Taken within 6 months with bright-color background)
(8) For Chinese national: Census of registry
(9) Visa processing fee (Single entry visa: 50 USD, Multiple entry visa: 80 USD)
※ Students who wish to travel outside of Korea during the exchange program may want to obtain multiple entry
D-2 visa. They need to specify that they want multiple entry visa; otherwise, single entry visa will be issued.
