1.0 OBJECTIVE:
1.1 This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) describe in detail the procedure to be followed
for the Sanitization of Water System.
2.0 SCOPE:
2.1 This SOP is applicable to the Operation of water System.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

Officer / Designee of Engineering : Execution of work as per procedure.


Department Head : Compliance of the system.

4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1 Head – Engineering

5.0 DEFINITIONS:
5.1 Standard Operating Procedure: SOP is set of written instruction that document a
routine or repetitive activity which is followed by employees in an organization. It
provides information to perform a job properly and consistently in order to achieve pre –
determined specification and quality end result.

6.0 PROCEDURE:
6.1 Checks and precautions:-
6.1.1 Ensure that the PW tank is filled atleast 600 Ltr
6.1.2 Ensure that the main steam valve is open
6.1.3 Put the system in Sanitization mode
6.1.4 The actuated valve will open and steam will flow to the jacket.
6.1.5 The temperature of the purified water will raise up 80 to 85 Degree centigrade
6.1.6 During the sanitization mode the UV light will be oFF.
6.1.7 The hot water will circulate for the set time (for 1 hour) and the water will be drained
from the dumping valve .
