ASSIGNMENT

PROBLEMS:

1. Convert an angle 19628’16” into its equivalent in decimal degrees.

2. Convert to degrees, minutes, and seconds the decimal angle 279.62 degrees.

3. Convert 328 into its equivalent value in grads, mils, and radians.
4. The interior angle (C) in a closed traverse is 269 grads. Convert the angle into its equivalent
value in degrees, mils, and radians.

5. Convert 3821 mils into its equivalent value in grads, degrees, and radians.

6. If the value of an angle of elevation () is computed to be /3 radians, determine the equivalent
value in degrees, grads, and mils.

7. Compute the angles AOB, COD, EOF, and GOH from the following set of lines whose magnetic
bearings are given:
(a) OA, S 2438’ W and OB, S 7310’ E
(b) OC, N 1539’ E and OD, N 2846’ W
(c) OE, S 1216’ E and OF, S 3612’ W
(d) OG, N 4817’ W and OH, S 4703’ W
8. Compute the angles APB, CPD, and EPF from the following set of lines whose azimuths are given:
(a) AZIMn of Line PA = 4228’ ; AZIMn of Line PB = 10617’
(b) AZIMs of Line PC = 26803’ ; AZIMs of Line PD = 7328’
(c) AZIMn of Line PE = 14248’ ; AZIMn of Line PF = 12615’

9. Convert the following bearings to equivalent azimuths.

10. Convert the following azimuths to equivalent bearings:
