Semester – 2 Assignment

A] Kindly answer any two questions:- (Word limit – within 250 to 300 words)

1) What are the areas the teacher should focus on while teaching young learners?
2) ' The modern psychological theories describe the current trends to be put into play'.
Discuss the current trends with reference to the Play in ECE.
3) Write a brief note on discovery learning. Discuss the role of students and teachers play
in discovery learning.
4) What are the 4 major types of learning disabilities? How can a teacher help students
overcome these difficulties? Illustrate with examples.

B] Teaching practice session

As a requisite for this course you are required to also undertake one session of teaching
practice of approximately 40 to 45 minutes duration. Though teaching practice is an
optional component, it is strongly recommended that you take it up. Please get in touch
with us in case you have any issues regarding the same.
Based on your own teaching of any one lesson, complete the forms given below:
1) Lesson Plan (Either the Pre-primary or the Primary)
2) Teaching Practice Observation Sheet
3) Teaching Practice – Self Evaluation Form
4) Teaching Practice Material Compilation / Evaluation

Please be informed that the Teaching practice observation sheet, Self-evaluation and
Teaching practice material compilation/evaluation forms should be written in relation
with your lesson plan. The topic, age group, no. of students, etc. should be the same in
all three forms based on what you write in the lesson plan.
