Report on CLEAN-UP
DRIVE
Himama-a Elementary School had always been an advocate of Ecological Solid Waste
Management Program with proper waste segregation and clean-up projects as its forefronts. With this
advocacy, the students and teachers conducted Division of Leyte
District of Bato
the clean-up drive last October 9, 2019.

The clean-up started exactly at 8:00 in the morning as the students were split into groups and
into specific areas. They brought with them cleaning materials such as wire brushes, brooms, trash bags
and dustpans. Moreover, they have repainted the stones designed in the landscape. At midday, the
activity ended with impressive turn-out, a remarkable transformation all brought by utmost
participation of many club members involved for progress and change of the school community

This activity had awakened the students of their responsibility to take care and reflects concern
of their environment. It was a success that the students and teachers reflected that they had done
something for the benefits of the school and the community as a whole.
