r e ct -
Oscillator for generat ing band- limited square waves.

s aw-
Oscillator for generat ing band-li mited sawtooth waves.

scope-
Oscilloscope: the signal on its inlet can be seen moving on its screen.

s e l e ctor -
Receives mu lt iple signals and routes on ly one (or none), dynamica lly designated,
to its o utlet.

sfplay -
Read an audio f ile already saved on disk. To open a f ile, send the command
"open" and choose the desired file . To play the f ile, send '1' as a command,
to stop the f ile, send '0', to loop the f ile send "loop 1", and to sto p loop ing,
send "loop O". The "speed" command, toget her with a mu lti plier, changes t he
speed at wh ich the f ile is played back.

sfrecord -
Enables recording sound to disk. The command "open" creates a f ile on disk,
whi le recording can be started and stopped using toggle .

sig -
Converts Max numbers into MSP signals.

slid e r
Graph ical object that produces a stream of integers at its o utlet. These objects
can be configured for eit her vert ical or horizo ntal display.

s qrt
Mathemat ical operator that calculates the square root of t he value on its inlet.

toggl e
Graphical object that, on everyclick, sendseit her a 1 or a 0 on its outlet, in alternation.

tri -
Oscillato r for generat ing band-limited triang le waves.

triangle -
A "conta iner" for produc ing triangu lar signals, which generates one cycle of a
tr iangle wave every t ime it receives a ramp signal go ing from Oto 1 on its signa l
inlet (which can be, fo r example, produced by a phasor- ).

vs . squar e -
Oscillator that generates a non-ba nd-limit ed square wave. This oscillator is part
of the Virtual Sound Macros library.
