CIRCULAR NOTE NO. 3 OF 2019

Vacancy for the Post of Deputy Director-General, National Security Service


Mauritius Police Force

Applications are invited from qualified officers of the Mauritius Police Force who
wish to be considered for appointment as Deputy Director-General, National Security
Service.

II. QUALIFICATIONS

By selection from among members of the Mauritius Police Force not below the rank of
Assistant Superintendent of Police who are of very high security trust and of proven
loyalty.

Knowledge and experience of intelligence work will be an advantage.

III. DUTIES AND SALARY

1. To assist the Director-General in -

(a) directing the activities of the National Security Service in strict


accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister to whom the Deputy
Director-General is also responsible and accountable through the
Director-General; and

(b) performing such other duties and in carrying out such other instructions
relating to the security of the State, as may be assigned by the Prime
Minister or by the Officer-in-Charge of the Home Affairs Division of the
Prime Minister’s Office, on instructions from the Prime Minister.

2. To perform such cognate duties as may be assigned.

The permanent and pensionable post carries a salary in the scale of Rs 62,950 x 1850 –
68,500 x 1950 – 74,350 x 2825 – 80,000 x 3000 – 86,000 (14 085 095) a month plus
salary compensation at the approved rate.

IV. MODE OF APPLICATION

1. Qualified candidates should submit their application on DFSC Form 7, which


may be obtained either from the Enquiry Counter of the Ministry of Civil
Service and Administrative Reforms, Ground Floor, Emmanuel Anquetil
Building, Port Louis or from the Enquiry Counter of the Office of the Public
Service Commission and Disciplined Forces Service Commission, 7, Louis
Pasteur Street, Forest Side or from the Chief Commissioner’s Office, Port
Mathurin, Rodrigues.

2. Applications should be submitted in duplicate, the original to be sent directly to


the Secretary, Disciplined Forces Service Commission and the duplicate through
the Commissioner of Police.

3. This circular is available on the website of the Public Service Commission


and Disciplined Forces Service Commission at http//psc.govmu.org

4. Acknowledgement of applications will be made, as far as possible, by e-mail.


Candidates are therefore encouraged to submit their e-mail address.

5. Candidates are advised to read carefully the “NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS


TO CANDIDATES” before filling in the application form. Care should be
taken to fill in the application form correctly. Incomplete, inadequate or
inaccurate filling of the application form may entail elimination of the
applicant.

V. CLOSING DATE

Applications should reach the Secretary, Disciplined Forces Service Commission, 7,


Louis Pasteur Street, Forest Side, not later than 3.00 p.m on
Tuesday 10 September 2019.
