Part II: Reflection
CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
During this field experience, I was able to develop and design an LMS using the platform of my
choice. I learned so much during this experience about technology facilitation and leadership. The
most important resource that I used during this experience besides my course textbooks was the
OLE rubric. As a technology leader, understanding your roles and responsibilities are extremely
important, and I feel this resource helped me greatly as I developed my LMS.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
This field experience related to all the knowledge I obtained from this course. A technology leader
must know and understand all of the components necessary to creating an online learning
experience. Furthermore, understanding Universal Design for learning is major. Students should
all equally benefit from OLE regardless of their specific learning needs and learning styles.
Creating this OLE related to a lot of necessary skills that a technology leader must have. It was
imperative that I first had the skills to use the platform I chose because a lack of skills would have
slowed down the process of creating the LMS. Furthermore, it was necessary for me to be skilled
in integrating various resources into my LMS. This experience allowed me to expand on my skills
of being a technology leader.
Technology leaders should always have a positive disposition because their work is important and
can sometimes be overwhelming. I changed many aspects of my LMS as I learned more about the
necessary components and format. However, although this took me additional time to go back and
make necessary adjustments, it made me aware that my finished artifact would only get better and
better. A technology leader’s disposition is very important!
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
Although this field experience in the end will impact student learning. I think the foundation of
this creating this OLE impacts school improvement. Sometimes trying various resources in one or
a few classes can prove to be an effective change schoolwide. I think that in the future this
experience could prove to show how effective online and blended learning is to contribute to
school improvement. I think if this blended learning experience goes well for my students, I will
share it with my Instructional Coach and Administrative team to suggest how this could possibly
make some positive change at our school.
