know the famous opera composers during

Thank you. That is correct and true. music in their times.

What learnings did you get from the activity?

Okay, Mr. Montalban is raising his hands.
Let’s hear it from him.
As long as I can remember and understand
from the readings and information we get I
learned that Romantic musicians can use
variety forms and concepts to create
beautiful music with the help of four
characteristics of music which are the Melody
and harmony, rhythym and tempo, dynamics
and tone colors.
Anyone else?
Okay, Miss Santos.
Of course, we should never forget the four
opera composers and their compositions
which lead them to the hall of fame like
Giuseppe Verdi who composed the La
Traviata on 1853 and died because of stroke.
Giacomo Puccini, the composer of Tosca and
Madame Butterfly, who used short and
memorable melodies and phrases that are
Thank you for that wonderful sharing of

yours. Seems you learned a lot today.

F. Abstraction ( 5 minutes )
What do you think is the connection of our
lesson today in our lives?
Ma’am the connection of the romantic music
and the musicians in that time is not a just to
us. Without them, our music today would be
meaningless. Why? Because their great
contribution helped in the development of
what music is today. Because of them we are
able to express our feelings freely through
the things we love like singing, dancing and
even acting/plays.

Great! But how are we going to maintain

their efforts or contribution?
Through listening and encouraging to watch
their operas in our free time. Or maybe
making a new rendition of their masterpieces
just like what Franz Liszt done when he
completed the piano texts of Paganini’s violin
pieces if we are musically inclined with
instruments. Who knows, we can be the new
generations music prodigy.
Well said. I hope that this class will initiate to
make this possible.

G. Application (10 minutes)

With the same group. I want you to think of
a modern song that has a touch of romantic
music. You have to act it out. And then you
are going to perform it in front of the class.
I will give 3 minutes to prepare and then
we’re good to start. (the students starts the task as soon as the
