General Notes
1. Contractor must follow all dimension given in all drawings and these dimension
must be read with conjunction with all architectural and M & E drawings. All
dimension shown are in millimeters unless otherwise stated.
3. All subgrade beneath the slab, beam and foundation shall be compacted to
95% modified proctor.
CONCRETE NOTES:
1. All concrete works and design shall be in accordance to ACI CODE 318-83
2. All structural concrete mix shall be in 1: 1 1/2 : 3 (Grade 25) unless otherwise
stated. Concrete mix for hard standing drain and other external works shall be 1 : 2 : 4
(Grade 20) unless otherwise stated.
3. All outermost reinforcement bars shall have the following clear concrete cover unless
otherwise stated
Foundation (Footing, Pile Caps, etc.) ----------- 75 mm.
Stumps and ground beams ------------------------- 40 mm.
Walls and Slab Exposed to water ----------------- 50 mm.
Columns and Floor Beams ------------------------- 25 mm.
Floor Slabs and Staircase --------------------------- 20 mm.
4. All cement used shall be ordinary Portland cement in accordance with ACI Code 318-
83 unless otherwise stated.
5. Fine and coarse aggregates used shall comply with ACI Code 318-83 unless otherwise
stated.
6. All underground reinforced concrete structure shall be screeded with 50 mm. thick
lean concrete.
7. All reinforcement shall be hot rolled steel conforming to AISC and ASTM standard
Compression Tension
Plain Bar (fy = 250 Mpa) 32 ø 39 ø
Deformed Bar (fy = 417 Mpa) 32 ø 41 ø
9. All stiffener for CHB walls required by the architect are to be 125 mm x 125 mm with
reinforcement of 4 – 12 mm ø bar and links of 6 mm ø at every 200 mm distance from
center to center unless otherwise stated. For CHB wall the maximum spacing of
stiffener is 4000 mm. with reinforce concrete starter bars at 600 mm center to center.
10. All lintels for doors and windows are to be 125 mm x 150 mm. with reinforcement of
2 – 12 mm ø (T & B) and stirrups of 6 mm. ø at every 200 mm distance from center
to center unless otherwise shown or stated, lintels are to be rested on walls and if not
possible, starter bars from column or stiffener are to be provided for lintels.
