Introduction
Besides, communication signals usually are analog signals and digital signals. Analog
modulation which is used in radio broadcasting is an amplitude modulation. As both the
analog and digital communications depend on electrical signals, transmitted data is
obtained almost instantaneously, regardless of the distance. This will allow users to quickly
communicate with others across the street or across the globe.
Transceiver :
Combination of transmitter and a receiver in a single device which receive signal
or data.
Wireless :
The free-space transmission and reception of data by means of electromagnetic
fields. Permit services such as long-range communications that are impossible or
impractical to implement with the use of wires.
Functions :
1. Transmits information between communication participants includes the use of
technology.
2. Establishes the interface between sender and receiver
3. Router the messages along the most efficient paths.
4. Ensures that the right message reaches the right user.
5. Performs editorial tasks such as checking for transmission errors.

components and justifications
Server Rack
Mainly it is used for accommodate IT
equipment such as servers, storage, HUB
and switches, to improve efficiency of
management and operation. There are
any types of server racks that exist for all
specific needs and situations.

Base
• Racks
A system for stacking hardware such that space is used efficiently.
• Cabling
System A system and set of conventions for cabling that keeps the complexity of cables
managed. Ideally, this includes a raised floor or ceiling racks that keep cables out of the
way.
• Power
Server rooms typically consume significant power and may be designed to have
redundant power sources such as grid and solar power.
• UPS
Uninterruptible power supply devices are used to protect equipment from unstable
power such as a surge. They are also selected to provide enough secondary power to
endure a short power outage or have time to switch power sources. Operations
Processes and resources for supporting the server room including physical tasks such
as swapping devices.
Infrastructure
Foundational services such as network equipment. A server room may be designed with
no single points of failure for critical infrastructure. For example, multiple connections to
the internet from different telecom companies.
• Physical Security
Protecting the assets in a server room with access control, monitoring, emergency
response, training and other internal controls.
• Fire Protection
Fire protection equipment, procedures and structures such as
a path for employees to
escape a fire in the server room.
• Environment Control
Control of humidity and air temperature. Computing
equipment runs hot and cooling is
a significant consideration in the design of a server room. For example, cool air can be
directed at racks from the floor and warm air collected from the ceiling.
• Backup
Backup of data and hot or cold sites for disaster recovery that are in a different physical
location, preferably in another city or region.
PABX
PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange, which is a private telephone network used within a company
or organization. The users of the PBX phone system can communicate internally (within their
company) and externally (with the outside world), using different communication channels like Voice
over IP, ISDN or analog. A PBX also allows you to have more phones than physical phone lines
(PTSN) and allows free calls between users. Additionally, it provides features like transfer calls,
voicemail, call recording, interactive voice menus (IVRs) and call queues.

Advantages
Telecommunication is an important tool for office building. It enables companies to
communicate effectively with customers and deliver high standards of customer service.
Telecommunication is also a key element in teamwork, allowing employees to
collaborate easily from wherever they are located. Mobile telecommunication gives
companies the opportunity to introduce more flexible working by allowing employees to
work efficiently from home. The introduction of smartphones gives employees new levels
of productivity and capability on the move.
General specification
Telecommunication room
A number of telecom rooms will be require in a building and it is depend on its
characteristics. The room type are:
- Heat
- Moisture
- High voltages
- Radio frequency interference
- Electro-magnetic interference
Telecom rooms must not be directly beneath or next to wet area such as:
- Showers
- Washrooms
- Garbage area.
- Utility pipes
- Sprinkler systems
- Window
Pathway opening to telecom spaces must be sealed with a regulation fire retardant
material.
All doors to telecom rooms must be a of solid wood core or steel construction, fire
retardant with a minimum rating of 2 hours.
All doors to telecom rooms must be outward opening with an automatic door closer
system fitted on a hinged edge.
All doors must be labeled.
All telecom rooms should have basic firefighting provision of hand-held extinguishers.
All telecom rooms must be maintained at 20 ‘c and the relative humidity at 50%.
However, for the floor telecom closed can be maintained within 20’c to 30’c
Telecom rooms must be secured from unauthorised entry but easily accessible 24
hours a day for any authority in-charged.
