Unit 5 review: Take a good look.


Aims:
Students will learn new vocabulary about Action verbs
Students will learn how to use reflexive pronoun
Student can understand and know how to use Past simple and continuous

Warmer:

Lesson:
Everything is on the ppt
Get the students to review past simple and past continuous (guide on the vocab and grammar doc) and
then test their knowledge with the three activities.

Vocab refresher. Go through the slides, asking them if they know what the word is based on the picture.
Get them to put the actions into sentences, and get them to use past simple and past continuous.

After the vocabulary. Show the students the pictures and get them to describe them in as much detail as
they can. Try to get them to offer opinions on what could be happening in the picture and why.

There are a few slides before the pictures with hints and tips for how to describe a picture.

IELTS speaking practice:


Remember to give the students feedback after they have answered each question to help them improve
over the speaking exercise.

I have included a couple of questions at the end of the PPT, that are not directly IELT questions but are
good questions to get the students to think about how they answer, and giving details.
