1. General introduction

Concrete mixing plant is a kind of automation equipment that automatically weighs multiple raw
materials (aggregate, gelatinizing materials, water and liquid additive) as per a formula, mixes
through forced mixer and produces finished concrete meeting requirements.

2. Main design basis

2.1 Design standard

Effective technical documents signed by both parties;


GB/T 10171-2016 Building construction machinery and equipment--Concrete Mixing Plant
(Tower)

2.2 Work environment

Environmental temperature: 1~40℃;


Altitude: ≤2000m;
Max. Wind Load: 700Pa;
Max. Snow Load: 800Pa;
Relative humidity: ≤90%.

2.3 Power supply

Three-phase 380V±7%, frequency: 50HZ.

2.4 Raw materials and formula

Raw materials conform to GB/T 14684-2011 Sand for Construction, GB/T 14685-2011 Pebble
and Crushed stone for Construction, GB 8076-2008 Concrete Admixtures and JGJ 63-2006
Standard of Water for Concrete.
Formula conforms to JGJ 55-2011 Specification for Mix Proportion Design of Ordinary
Concrete.

Remarks:
1) Theoretical production rate refers to the equipment productivity in standard testing work
condition. Actual production rate is closely related to the characteristics, formula, materials, mixing
time, vehicle, production dispatch, operation habits, etc. of the first pan.
2) Weighing range and accuracy refers to the dynamic weighing accuracy of equipments. The
weighing range and accuracy of all weighers listed in the table conform to the regulations under (Su)
No. 00000719-1 of People’s Republic of China license for manufacturing measuring instruments
issued by Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. Too small weighing
value will cause too large error and overlarge weighing value will damage equipments.
3) Raw materials larger than the max. aggregate diameter may cause seizing-up, low mixing
efficiency and even damage to the equipment.

4. Process flow and equipment structure

According to process flow, the system is mainly divided into such basis functional modules as
aggregate batching, weighing and conveying system, powder storage, conveying and weighing
system, liquid storage, supply and weighing system, mixing and discharging system, tower frame,
pneumatic system, electrical control system and lighting system.

4.1 Aggregate batching, weighing and conveying system

Description of process flow:


Aggregate is transported to corresponding storage silo through loading machine. After receiving
batching order, the batching mechanism opens the gate through air cylinder and aggregate will be
put on horizontal belt weigher by force of gravity. When the weight reaches the set value, close the
gate and batching will be finished. After the system sending out charging order, the driving motor of
horizontal belt weigher will be started to charge aggregate into elevating hopper feeder, which then
feed aggregate into mixer for mixing according to working time sequence.

Aggregate batching system
It consists of storage bin and batching mechanism. The storage bin is steel-structured, with
outriggers welded with equipment foundation, and charged through loading machine. The gate of
batching mechanism is arc-shaped and driven by air cylinder.
Horizontal belt weigher
It is suspended under the aggregate silo by sensor, with aggregate collecting, weighing and
delivery functions.
Elevating hopper feeder
Its function is to lift the materials delivered by the horizontal belt weigher as per time sequence
and feed them into mixer.
Remarks:
Customers can erect check plate or retaining wall around the batching bin according to practical
conditions on site when feed with loading machine to prevent materials from falling under the

aggregate silo; if the equipment produces at night, customers need to install lighting devices in
batching area; to prevent people from entering by mistake and falling off, customers need to set up
protective guardrail around the pits of storage bin and elevating hopper feeder; to prevent
equipment from getting immersed in rainwater and dirty water, customers need to adopt necessary
protective measures for pits, e.g. installing sewage pump or packaging.

4.2 Powder storage, conveying and weighing system

Description of process flow:


Powder is blown into powder silo through pipelines from powder tank carrier. After receiving
batching order, the system will start spiral conveyer and deliver powder from the silo into weigher.
When the weight reaches the set value, close the spiral conveyer and batching will be finished. After
the system sending out charging order, the weighing device will open unloading gate through air
cylinder and charge powder into the mixer.

4.2.1 Powder storage silo
It is round steel-  assembly silo. Dust collector and pressure safety valve are set up on top for
ventilating and emergent decompression. Powder pipeline is set up externally for filling materials.
And high and low level detectors are supplied. Manual service valve is supplied on bottom tapered
structure. For the tapered part, air make-up nozzle is supplied for broken device. Round outrigger

bottom is welded with foundation embedded plate.


4.2.2 Powder conveying device
It adopts assembled tubular spiral conveyer, with inlet connected to powder storage silo and
outlet to powder weigher, installed in tilted way.
4.2.3 Powder weigher
It has square tapered hopper structure, suspended with a sensor. A spiral inlet with flexible
connection (punching and welding on site) and vent pipe are supplied on the top, a discharging
butterfly valve and flexible connector at the bottom and a vibrating motor on the hopper body. The
weigher is installed above the mixer.

4.3 Liquid storage, supplying and weighing system

Process flow description:


After receiving batching instruction from the system, start the water/additive pump to deliver
water and additive to the weigher through pipeline, stop pumping when the weight reaches the set
value, and then the batching will be done. After the system gives feeding instruction, the
water/additive weighing devices open the discharging gate through the air cylinder to feed the liquid
into the mixer.

4.3.1 Water storage, supplying and weighing system


Underground reservoir with concrete structure, submersible pump and steel pipe, which is
connected to the weighing system, is equipped. The water weigher adopts quadrate-box structure,
suspended fixed through sensor; the bottom of the weigher is cone-shaped, equipped with
discharging butterfly valve, through which soft connection to the water feeding pipeline is realized.
The end of water feeding pipeline is connected with the mixer. The weigher is installed above the
lateral side of the mixer.
4.3.2 Additive storage, supplying and weighing system
Steel round additive storage bin, equipped with additive air-agitating device; the top openable cap
of the bin is used for additive feeding and interior overhaul; observe the material level through the
external translucent pipe; pump and steel pipeline, which is connected to the weighing system, is
equipped. The additive weigher adopts stainless steel hopper and is fixed above the mixer, single
sensor push type fixed, and the bottom of it is equipped with discharging butterfly valve.

4.4 Mixing and discharging system

Process flow description:


The raw weighed aggregate, cement, water, additive and other materials is mixed uniformly in
the mixer, and the finished concrete is delivered to the concrete truck mixer through the discharging
system.

Forceful horizontal double-shaft blade with wearing scale board inside, the bottom is fixed with
pneumatic discharging gate; floating closing ring type shaft seal structure realizes automatic
oil-makeup and lubrication; the mixer cover has inspection gate with safety device, feed ports of all
the materials are inside it.
The discharging system is below the mixer, square-tapered type structure, the bottom of the
discharging hopper is fixed with rubber hose sleeve, and necessary changeable scale board is
covered on the inner wall, the surround structure is opened, convenient for inner cavity cleaning.

4.5 Main tower frame

Assemble type steel structure frame, totally three floors, the bottom is welded with foundation
pre-burying plate. The first floor is concrete receive space for the truck mixer, the second floor is
the mixing and discharging system, the third floor is weighing floor, and there is necessary footpath
and stair between the second and the third floors.

4.6 Pneumatic system

The movement of aggregate batching, discharging and mixer feeding inside the equipment are
all pneumatic driven. The pneumatic system consists of air supply, auxiliary components, control
components and executive components, etc.

4.7 Electrical control system

It can be entirely operated by either computer or button.

The electrical control system mainly consists of control system hardware and control system
software.
Control system hardware mainly includes: electrical cabinet, button operation table, computer
and peripheral equipment, etc. The main electrical components include PLC, low pressure electrical
components, relay, computer, UPS, printer and display etc.
Control system software mainly includes: upper computer system, PLC software.
4.7.1 Upper computer system
Consist of two business parts: manufacturing operation monitor and manufacturing management.
Manufacturing operation monitor:
It includes the setting and adjustment of production parameters, the function of real time monitor,
operation prompt, running log record of the equipment, thus to ensure the normal operation of the
equipments.
Manufacturing management:
It includes such basic functions: production task management, formula management and
production scheduling, vehicle management, custom management, material management, customer
and power restriction management based on stand-alone, and support equipment automatic
production and basic business flow.
4.7.2 PLC software
Main production process control, including signal input of detection components and signal
output of executive components.
4.7.3 Control room
The wall material of control room adopts t75 sandwich board, the hang ceiling adopts t50
sandwich board, and the external uses t4 checkered plate; the bottom frame of control room is
paved with t28 wooden board, on which is covered with Power Dekor anti-static floor. Necessary
door and window, lighting lamps and plug seat are provided. The interior layout of the control room
shown as follows:

4.8 Lighting system

To monitor the running of the equipment, four illuminations are installed on the equipment. If
the equipment needs production and overhaul at night, customers shall arrange floodlight by
themselves.

8.2 Painting scheme of silos

(1) The whole silo is painted Grey.

(2) The “XCMG” trademark and the Chinese Characters “XCMG SCHWING TECH” are painted
on the front of upper part of the frontmost silo body. The height of “XCMG” and its LOGO is
600 and of “XCMG SCHWING TECH” is 200. The font and height/width ratio are selected in
accordance with XCMG standard VI. The color is GSB G51001-94 PB06 light blue.

(3) The customer mark is painted on the front of the middle part of the frontmost silo body, with a
height of 1000. The word count depends on silo height and the agreement with customer on site.
The font, height/width ratio and color (according to Standard GSB G51001-94 color code) are
selected in accordance with customer’s requirements confirmed during signing the contract and
thus the model should be provided by the customer.
