The Contractor will guarantee that the following operations are carried out
before, during and after recording :
- always carry out the calibration of the instruments before recording.

10. DOCUMENTATION
Before starting the operation the Contractor will provide an operations program based on the
information provided by the Company.
The information provided by Company shall include basic well information, a recording program with
the reason for the recording, the minimum information/results to be obtained and all the information
necessary to ensure optimal execution of the operation. The recording program shall contain the
modalities to be used to perform the record, the number of up and down passes to conduct in the
surveyed area, the cable velocity and the recording of any stationary measures.
In the operations program the Contractor shall include the recording tool string description and
relevant specifications with recommended back up tools and suggestion for a better quality of
recording.
The operations program shall include the list of the personnel involved with shifting program in case
of long operations.
At the end of the service the Contractor shall submit at Job Report.
In case a non conformance is encountered during the service, the Contractor shall submit
full explanation of the cause and corrective actions applied or plan of actions to undertake
to explain and correct the non conformance.
At the end of each operation the Contractor must provide the Company with :
1. An original film, plus the number of copies stated in the contract, at two different scales, for
every log (scales of 1:200 and 1:1000 are usually requested);
2. A checked 4 mm DAT tape in LIS/DLIS format, with standard density (5 Giga) or a tape
LIS/DLIS format with 1600 BPI density; in case of high density it is important to specify it on the
tape header.
3. The Contractor must provide at the end of each acquisition run a 3 ½" floppy disk containing
selected measured data, defined by the Company Representative, in LAS or ASCII format.
4. A single file playback, histogram or crossplot (histograms and crossplots are limited to a
continuous interval of not more than 150 m). Single file playback is meant as a playback
obtained from a set of values measured (or recorded on tape) in a single or combined service.
All Image Files are to be provided in Adobe Acrobat Version 5 format using the Acrobat Version
5 software. The file extension name for this type of file is *.PDF.
The Adobe Acrobat PDF file should contain multiple pages with a landscape page size of 11.0 inches
or 279.4 mm width and 7.0 inches or 177.8 mm length. These dimensions must be exact and not
varied. The reason for these particular dimensions is to allow the mudlogs to be printed on multiple
pages to a single sheet A4 printer and to an Epson Stylus Colour 3000 or 1520 in a continuous plot
by selecting the page size of Long Paper 17 x 7 in for paper source Manual Feed Slot (Banner). Note
that physically the paper can be fed into the Manual Feed Slot or on sprockets through the Tractor
Feeder.
It is important that there are no margins at the top and bottom, edges of the plot as the 7 inch (177.8
mm) length pages will print continuously to an Epson printer to make a log as long as is required.
It is likely that these pages will be output first to a multiple page Postscript File and then converted to
Acrobat version 5 using the Acrobat Distiller version 5 program. It is important that the following
settings be set in Acrobat Distiller version 5.
On the General Tab select Compatibility Acrobat 3.0, Check Optimize, Uncheck Embed Thumbnails,
Resolution 300 dpi and Binding Left, set the default page size to 11.0" Width and 7.0" Height.
