AI Sensor installation and setup guide.  

   

 
 

AdMobilize AI Sensor 
This  device  is  designed  to  use  AdMobilize  technology  to  do  Audience  Analytics 
using USB camera.

Requirements to set up 


● Wireless or Ethernet internet connectivity. 

Setup 
Step 1: Connect Camera & Device
1. With  the  device  powered  off,  connect  the  USB  camera  to  any  of  the  USB 
ports. 
2. Connect  the  power  supply  to  the  AI  Sensor  unit  and  to  an  electrical  outlet. 
The device will turn on automatically. 
3. Wait approximately 2 minutes for the device to completely turn on. 

Step 2: Configure Internet connectivity


The  next  step  is  to  choose  and  set  up  the  type  of  connectivity  for  the  unit. Use the 
following steps according to your type of connection. 

Option 1: Ethernet Cable 

Connect  Ethernet  cable  to  the  device  and  it  will  connect  to  the  internet 
automatically. 

   

 
 

Option 2: WiFi 

1. Using  your  mobile  device  (Android  or  iPhone),  open  the  WiFi  settings  and 
locate  a  Network  named  after  your  device  ID  "Device  ID",  you  can  find  the 
device ID printed on a label on the back of the unit. 

2. Tap  on  the  “Device  ID”  network  and  enter  the  Passphrase  provided  by 
AdMobilize to connect to it. 

 
 

3. A  new  screen  will  show  up.  On  this  new  screen,  select  the  desired  WiFi 
Network from the dropdown menu, enter its passphrase and click on Connect.  

 
In case the login screen doesn’t show up, you can access it by following these steps: 

● Make sure your device is connected to the Wifi (check the wifi icon on the top 
of the device). 
● Open your browser and type the IP address 192.168.42.1:81. 
● Select the Wifi connection and insert its password. 

 
 

● After  inserting  the  network  information  wait  a  few  seconds  until  the  device 
shows as online on the dashboard. 

In  case  the  IP  doesn’t  work,  check  on  your  WIFI  configuration  the  router  IP  the 
device got and access it with the port 81.  

4. The  device  should  connect  to  the  wifi  network  specified  and  the  “Device  ID” 
should disappear from the list of connections on your phone. 

At  this  stage,  the  unit  should  be  connected  to  our  platform  and  you  can  go  to  the 
application  dashboard  ​https://dashboard.admobilize.com  using  the  user  name  and 
password provided by our team to view the device and its data. 

On  the  left  side  of  the  dashboard  screen,  you  will  see  a  list  of  all  the  devices 
assigned  to  your  account.  You can select the recent setup device and it should have 
either  a  green  dot  or  red  dot  next to the name to denote the online status (online = 
green, offline = red). 

If  the  AI  Sensor  shows  green  then  you  can  request  a  preview  image  that  will allow 
you  to  position  the  camera  to  fit  your  measurement  goals.  Follow  step  3  for 
information on how to take the preview image. 

 
 

  

Step 3: Position the Camera


Once  you  have  located  your  device  in  the  dashboard  you  can  request  a  preview 
image. Click on the three dots next to the device name, to display device options. 

Next click on preview image option. 

 
 

You’ll need to read and agree to the GDPR disclaimer to request the preview image. 

For  privacy  reasons  and  to comply with GDPR the preview image has a privacy filter 


applied  that  will  produce  a  slightly  blurry  image  but  with  enough  clarity  for 
positioning. 

 
 

Important Positioning Requirements/Information 

● Position the camera at an eye level height (5ft - 7ft / 1.5m - 2.1m).  
● The maximum distance for detections is approx 25ft / 7m.  
● Lighting  conditions  can  affect  the  distance  range  and  detection  capabilities.
