Pre-lim

1. What do you understand about Personal Development?

What I understand about Personal Development is that it includes activities that improve
awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital and facilitate
employability, enhance quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and
aspirations.

If you imagine that the obstacles in your way are big walls, then personal development
is a way to break these walls and clear the space in front of you so that you can go
through your life easier.

If you have a clear space in front of you, you can just flow through life and you don’t
have to struggle anymore and feel stuck behind big walls that seem too big to pass
through.

Personal development is not just a way of solving problems in your life. It is a way of
growing. It is your way to a better life, to become an improved version of yourself.

2. Write your reflection regarding the question, “Who Am I”

I am an individual. I am my own person, a person who makes mistakes, laughs, cries,

hurts, smiles and loves. I am who I am through my joys, sorrows, heartbreaks,
happiness and my loses. I I’ve been through a lot in my life and I’m only nineteen-years-
old. I never knew that I would overcome the problems that I had with my parents but I
did. I think that’s why I’m a strong person. My name is Brazell Tejero, the daughter of
Bronsun and Hazell joy Tejero. I was born on May 1st 2000, born in the city of Golden
Friendship. I have two siblings and I am the 2 nd.

Every experience in my life good or bad, happy or sad makes me stronger as a person.
Each passing moment is a new life experience for me and makes me grow into the
person I want to be. As high school student, Living in a broken family is something no
one would love to have but I recognize that I have an opportunity that some students do
not have. I have the love and support of my parents who have chosen to finance my
tuition fees and high school experience and I am so grateful for it.

3. How do your feelings and emotions affect the way you think and behave?

• I’ll go with Jealousy, because everybody knows and experienced this feeling and you
can’t deny it. There are times you will do stupid stuffs unintentionally caused by getting
jealous. Because of anger you won’t be able to control yourself and it already affects the
way you think and behave.
•Second, impatient. If you're too impatient, you can make rash decisions with terrible
consequences. If you're too patient, you can waste vast stretches of your life pursuing
the wrong goals.

4. What changes happen during adolescence?

During adolescence, young people go through many changes as they move into
physical maturity. Girls may begin to develop breast buds as early as 8 years old. Boys
may begin to notice that their testicles and scrotum grow as early as age 9. Pubic hair,
armpit and leg hair usually begin to grow. Menstrual periods takes place on girls and
boys voices change at the same time as the penis grows.

The sudden and rapid physical changes that adolescents go through make adolescents
very self-conscious. They are sensitive, and worried about their own body changes.
They may make painful comparisons about themselves with their peers.
