This document will guide you through the necessary steps to connect a Schneider VSD or Soft
starter with Modbus communication to the configuration software – SoMove.

1. Connect cable TCSMCNAM3M002P from the PC to the RJ45 modbus port of the device.

2. If the cable has never been connected before – Allow the Modbus driver software to install (this may
take two attempts)

3. On the bottom right hand side of the desktop taskbar,
double click on the Modbus icon.

4
4. If the icon is not displayed, click on the arrow to show all hidden icons.
The Modbus icon should be there, if not it may not be installed on the
PC.

5. Once the Modbus Driver window is open

find the COM port which the Modbus driver has allocated for the
connected cable. The allocated port will have [ready] displayed
next to it.
Remember this port number as it is required for SoMove 5
configuration.

There is no need to adjust the settings in this window as SoMove

will adjust if needed when establishing a connection.
