0.3 SYLLABUS
The training method based on the Boeing B737 training philosophy, incorporates
MY INDO AIRLINES Standard Operating Procedures and meets the requirements
of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Indonesia.
The Ground Training covers the requirements for B737-CL recurrent training
program, review and update pilot technical knowledge and proficiency in
procedure based on current issue and any training update requirement.
The Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT) Full Flight Simulator covers techniques
and procedures for normal and non-normal maneuvers.
The Proficiency Check (PPC) Full Flight Simulator is conducted by either the DGCA
or a qualified Check Airman to maintain the pilot current experience as defined by
the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Indonesia.

CHAPTER 1
COURSE OUTLINE
Each B737-CL Recurrent Training cycle is a three day exercise comprise of the
following:
Day 1, 2, and 3 may not necessarily be scheduled consecutively or sequentially and may be
spaced within two month calendar apart to allow for better scheduling.

CHAPTER 2
GROUND TRAINING
2.1 INTRODUCTION
The Ground Recurrent Training segment is designed for qualified B737-CL crew to
review all the technical knowledge and procedures required in the Flight
Simulator session, discuss any practical aircraft performance issues and to confirm
awareness of the latest changes in COM, FCOM and Bulletins etc.
Trainees are expected to read and discuss the appropriate section of their Flight
Crew Operations Manual (FCOM), Flight Crew Training Manual (FCTM), Minimum
Equipment List (MEL) or other reference material as directed by the Flight
Simulator Syllabus prior to attending the Flight Simulator session.
Review the following subjects which are related to the Flight Simulator Syllabus.
Electronic Flight Instrument 30 minutes
Hydraulic System 23 minutes
Landing Gear and Brakes 30 minutes
Primary Flight Controls 20 minutes
Secondary Flight Controls 25 minutes
CHAPTER 3
FULL FLIGHT SIMULATOR - INTRODUCTION
3.1 INTRODUCTION
The recurrent full flight simulator training segment is designed for qualified
B737- CL crew for Type Rating/License Renewal as defined by the applicable
regulating authority.
Each day's lesson has three parts: a one-hour briefing, a four-hour simulator period
divided into two segments, and a debriefing.
The four hour simulator period is designed for two pilots to each fly a two-hour
segment. Immediately following each period, a debriefing consisting of a review of
the trainees’ performance will be conducted by the instructor. Items to study for
the next period will also be identified.
Each lesson is organized in a “phase of flight” format that specifies training events
to be accomplished and the sequence of presentation. Other information includes
the weather and airplane information for calculating takeoff performance. Airfield
information can be obtained from the approach charts.
Each lesson contains briefing items which are referenced to sections in the
operations manual or the flight crew training manual. Crews are expected to
become thoroughly familiar with these items prior to each training period.
As much as practical, realism will be maintained during training. The instructor will
act as company dispatcher, ground crew, and air traffic control. Flights will be
flown in real time except when repositioning is specified in the lesson plan. These
requirements do not preclude verbal instructions and comments when
appropriate, and position freezing and repositioning to make more efficient use of
available time.
All crewmembers must fully familiarize themselves with all areas pertinent to the
operation of the airplane, namely, MEMORY items, QRH, LIMITATIONS,
PERFORMANCE and SYSTEMS.
(2) PRE-FLIGHT
Unless otherwise instructed or annotated in the profile, FULL pre-flight
preparation must be accomplished.
(1) Headsets shall be used for all training and check sessions
(2) Oxygen masks and smoke goggles should be donned as and when required.
(3) Unless required by a specific exercise, use of the Auto flight system is
allowed. (4) Auto flight systems may not be used during the following phases of
exercises:
• Engine failure during takeoff prior to Flaps and Slats (or Leading edge
Devices) being fully retracted.
• After fully configured for an approach with an engine failed
• Prior to descending more than 50 feet below MDA/MDH on a Non-precision
approach)
• Prior to descending below DA on a precision approach
• Prior to reaching Flap retraction altitude during a miss-approach (with or
without power plant failure)
During de-briefing emphasis on the positive aspects and the learning process of
THREAT AND ERROR MANAGEMENT.
3.6 STANDARDIZATION
In order to obtain the same standard among the crew it is suggested that the
instructor or check airmen to perform the training or check as far as possible in the
same manner as directed in this syllabus.
