Browser Tests
Google Chrome is recommended for all tests, especially if a speaking component is
included.
Limited support is provided for Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge. Each of these
browsers is compliant with the HTML5 standards used to create the speaking test, but as the
technology is new, they are unreliable. At the time of writing Google Chrome is the only
browser to fully and reliably support these technologies.
Note that it is not possible to deliver tests on any versions of Internet Explorer. This
was decided early in the Aptis platform migration project, as the only way this would have
been possible was to use Adobe Flash. Adobe annouced they were retiring Flash during the
project, and it has a number of security flaws which would put candidate data and test
content at risk.
