PC Pre Requisites for ERP (SAP GUI Installation)

1. For windows XP Machine following prerequisites must be met for


successful installation of SAP GUI.

1. Please check the Hardware by right Clicking Mycomputer->Properties.


You must have WINXP Professional Edition with SP3 (Service Pack 3). Minimum
500 MB RAM , 1GHz Processor and minimum space of 2 GB in C drive.
How to Up grade XP service pack 2 to service pack3 ?

a. Down load windows Service pack 3 patch from ftp server 10.196.223.142 or from internet.

b. Type ftp:// 10.196.223.142 at IE or Mozilla Fire fox browser. If Login information is asked type user
name – ftpuser Password – ftp123

c. Select Service pack 3 patch and save it on desktop.

d. Run the patch by double clicking on it.

2. In WINXP machines check Java version using the following link


http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp or using java –version command in cmd prompt.

Java Version should be 1.4 or above. if not please upgrade.


3. Check whether MS Office 2003/2007 is installed and working (Activated)
4. Check whether ADOBE READER is working.
5. Check whether Microsoft dotnet framework is installed. (can be checked by
Control panel->Add/remove programme-> displays all installed programmes.)

6. After satisfying all these requirements install SAPGUI 7.30.

7. Also temporarily disable Windows Firewall and Mcaffe antivirus (If Installed)

8. Alternatively You can uninstall Mcafee/Avast/AVG antivirus and install Microsoft security essentials so

that SAPGUI will work smoothly.

2. Pre requisites for Windows 7 and Vista PCs


1. 1 GB RAM & C-drive with minimum 2 GB free space

2. Java Version 1.4 or above

3. .net frame version 2 and above

4. updated Graphic drives.


3. Pre requisites for Windows 8
1. Windows 8 32-bit (only "Professional" and "Enterprise" editions) - supported from Patch Level
2. Windows 8 64-bit edition on x64 (AMD) and Intel EM64T (only "Professional" and "Enterprise"
editions) - supported from Patch Level 1
3. Windows 8.1 32-bit (only "Professional" and "Enterprise" editions) - supported from Patch Level
6 hotfix 1
4. Windows 8.1 64-bit edition on x64 (AMD) and Intel EM64T (only "Professional" and "Enterprise"
editions) - supported from Patch Level 6

5. 1 GB RAM & C-drive with minimum 2 GB free space for above configurations of Windows 8

6. Java Version 1.4 or above

7. .net frame version 2 and above

8. updated Graphic drives.

4. SAP GUI Log on


1. SAP GUI Version 7.30 is recommended for all above mentioned configuration of Windows

2. ESS and MSS will work only on Internet explorer as recommended by SAP, In Chrome and Mozilla it
will not work.
