[email protected] Financial literacy is the ability to understand and effectively apply various
financial skills, including personal financial management, budgeting, and investing.
Financial literacy helps individuals become self-sufficient so that they can achieve
financial stability.
Last February 14, 2020, VLPSNSH Faculty conducted the LAC session about
Financial Literacy after the Love Your Heart – Love your Environment Tree Planting
Activity. The video regarding financial literacy was presented to all the teachers and
to our students as well in their respective classrooms with the adviser who also
facilitates the discussion and sharing of insights on how it is significant.
Financial literacy learning materials is very educational and useful for it ignites
the interest of our learners so as to our teachers. We utilized it the literacy learning
material once a week.
The Learning resources that have contributed and influenced the personal
financial management for the students was on the topic: Kasipagan, Pagpupunyagi ,
pagtitipid at wastong Pamamahala sa Naiimpok”. Which is the story of Mila. So as
the Bente-Bente: “ Matalinong Pamamahala ng makukunan ng resources na Salik ng
kanyang Pag-unlad.” For the students , what captures them most was on : Save to
have a million: Junior Edition. Hence all the presentations are good and enhances
the interest specially to our students.
The significant learning of these FL learning help us the ability to understand
and properly apply financial management skills. Effective financial planning, properly
managing debt, accurately calculating interest, and understanding the time value of
money are characteristics of being financially literate. Thus. Financial illiteracy
contributes in making poor financial decisions and becoming victims of abusive
financial practices. With this, we have realized how it is very important to save
money for the future and for emergency use.
The Faculty teachers had the “IPON Challenge” where they save and set
aside money every day. We were also encourage to cook and sell on our canteen.
We able to save and were also sure how nutritious and healthy the food of our
students.
We suggest this Financial literacy can be also presented to our parents as
our stakeholders so they may also be ignite to save for their children future.

good people, raises them up as leaders and continually develops them."
