Product specified and their descriptions:

SILVER STAR : Grey, polymer modified, cement-based thin or thick bed adhesive. The properties are
as follows.

Under Tile Primer: Water based under tile and stone primer to prevent efflorescence

Treatment Methodology:
Scope ................................ Walls, Floors, Interior, Dry areas, wet areas and showers (Do not use
showers for at least 2 weeks after the completion of grouting).
Substrate ........................... Brick / Concrete / Sand cement rendering / brick work / Sand cement
screed / RCC
Type of Tiles ...................... Ceramic tiles / Natural stones with high porosity
Surface Preparation ........... The newly installed substrate shall be allowed to cure and dry as per
standard practice. Sharp edges and other protrusions shall be grinded to
make them flush with the surface. The surface shall be cleaned to make
it free from all dirt, dust, efflorescence, laitance and other
contaminants. Substrate shall be level (floor), flat and plumb in line

 (wall). All tile and other non-porous surfaces shall be cleaned by
washing with water containing detergent, then with clean water.
Any loose or hollow portions shall be filled and made flush with the
surface using 1:3 cement: sand mortar applied over Slurry bond coat.
Slurry bonding coat is prepared by mixing 2 parts by weight of Portland
cement to 1 part of ADMIX AD1. Apply the mix on the substrate using
brush immediately before applying mortar.
UNDER TILE & STONE PRIMER
Application ........................ UNDER TILE & STONE PRIMER shall be applied stone including the side
edges to prevent the efflorescence as follows:-
 Clean all the tile / stone to make them free from all dirt dust
and other contaminants.
 Apply a coat of UNDER TILE & STONE PRIMER to under side of
the tile / stone including the side edges and leave it to soak for
5 min and wipe off any excess primer remaining on the tile /
stone.
 Apply the second coat of primer at a time gap of 30 min if the
porosity of tile / stone is high.
Tile / Stone Installation ...... Installation of tiles using SILVER STAR adhesive is as follows:-
 Mix the Silver star powder and clean water in ratio of (by
weight) 4:1, until a lump free smooth paste of uniform mix is
obtained, using heavy duty slow speed (less than 300 rpm)
electrical drilling machine with spiral paddle attached. Thus,
obtained mix has 3 hrs of pot life.
 Spread the adhesive on floor (at 6mm thick) and wall (at 3mm
thick) using suitable steel notch trowel. (Not more than 1 Sqm
at a time)
 Press the tiles firmly in to the positions with a slightly twisting
action and use suitable rubber mallet for gentle tamping.
 Use spacer of required size to maintain the uniform joint
width (Joint gaps of at least of 3mm shall be provided to
facilitate movement)

  Tiles have to be fixed within 15 min and can be adjusted up to
5-10 min @27±10C. Touch the ribs of the applied adhesive
periodically, if skin has formed; replace the dry adhesive with
fresh adhesive.
 Periodically make sure that the tiles are 100% adhesion with
adhesive.
 After fixing the tiles, excess adhesive on faces and at joints has
to be cleaned periodically.
 For height more than 20 feet, use suitable clamps to hold the
tile or stones in position.
 Grouting can be carried out after 24 hrs.
 Do not use in damp condition and temperature less than 5O C.

ADMIX AD1: White, polymer emulsion for use with cement mortar/ cement based adhesives, in
interior and exterior situations in both wet and dry conditions as bonding agent / slurry coat, once
cured acts as water resistant.

Surface Preparation ........... The newly installed substrate shall be allowed to cure and dry as per
standard practice. Sharp edges and other protrusions shall be grinded to
make them flush with the surface. The surface shall be cleaned to make
it free from all dirt, dust, efflorescence, laitance and other
contaminants. Substrate shall be level (floor), flat and plumb in line
(wall). All tile and other non-porous surfaces shall be cleaned by
washing with water containing detergent, then with clean water.
Any loose or hollow portions shall be filled and made flush with the
surface using 1:3 cement : sand mortar applied over Slurry bond coat.
Slurry bonding coat is prepared by mixing 2 parts by weight of Portland
cement to 1 part of ADMIX AD 1. Apply the mix on the substrate using
brush immediately before applying mortar.

UNDER TILE & STONE PRIMER
Application ........................ Under tile & stone primer shall be applied stone including the side
edges to prevent the efflorescence as follows:-
 Clean all the tile / stone to make them free from all dirt dust
and other contaminants.
 Apply a coat of Under tile & stone primer to under side of the
tile / stone including the side edges and leave it to soak for 5
min and wipe off any excess primer remaining on the tile /
stone.
 Apply the second coat of primer at a time gap of 30 min if the
porosity of tile / stone is high.
Tile / Stone Installation ...... Installation of tile / stone using Platinum Star adhesive is as follows:-
 Mix the Platinum Star powder and clean water in ratio of (by
weight) 4:1, until a lump free smooth paste of uniform mix is
obtained, using heavy duty slow speed (less than 300 rpm)
electrical drilling machine with spiral paddle attached. Thus,
obtained mix has 3 hrs of pot life.
 Spread the adhesive on floor (at 6mm thick) and wall (at 3mm
thick) using suitable steel notch trowel. (Not more than 1 Sqm
at a time)
 Press the tile / stone firmly in to the positions with a slightly
twisting action and use suitable rubber mallet for gentle
tamping.
 Use spacer of required size to maintain the uniform joint
width (Joint gaps of at least of 3mm shall be provided to
facilitate movement)
 Tile / stone have to be fixed within 20 min and can be adjusted
up to 20-25 min. Touch the ribs of the applied adhesive
periodically, if skin has formed; replace the dry adhesive with
fresh adhesive.
 Periodically make sure that the tile / stone are 100% adhesion
with adhesive.

  After fixing the tiles, excess adhesive on faces and at joints has
to be cleaned periodically.
 For height more than 20 feet, use suitable clamps to hold the
tile or stones in position.
 Grouting can be carried out after 24 hrs.
 Do not use in damp condition and temperature less than 5O C.
 Suitable clamps shall be used while installing large size stone
at height more than 20 Ft for safety purpose.

Epoxy Grout Installation ..... All joints shall be filled by using epoxy grouts as follows:-
 Stir hardener and resin before adding them in to suitable
sized, clean container and thoroughly mix using heavy duty
slow speed (less than 300 rpm) drilling machine with spiral
paddle. Slowly add the required quantity of filler depending on
the joint width, required consistency, temperature, different
usage condition, etc. Mix thoroughly until all the powder is
dispersed and uniform coloured, homogeneous mix is
obtained.
 Using a hard rubber / grout float compact the grout into the
joint, ensuring that they are completely filled, strike off excess
grout diagonally from the surface of tiles / stones and joints.
 Plug open-ended joints with the stiffer mix to prevent any
slumping of the grout joints occurring.
 Within 30 min of application, clean off surplus grout, using
emulsifying pad and gripper dampened with clean water to
break down the grout residue. Use in circular motion and keep
the pad and gripper flat relative to the tile surface to achieve a
flush joint. Do not allow water to flow / run in to the joints.
 Clean off the emulsified epoxy / water residue with a sponge
in diagonally to the grout lines, taking care not to drag grout
from the joints.

  Any light haze remaining on the tile surface can be cleaned off
using the emulsifying pad / gripper and an alkaline detergent.
Don not allow to haze remain one surface longer than 24 hrs.
 The complete setting time is 48 hrs at 270C ± 10C.
 Do not apply in damp condition.
