Styrex 310 is a water-based free radical polymerization residue
inhibitor used in the styrene manufacturing process.
Typical applications include distillation trains, dehydro
treatment
condensers, vent gas compressors, and water
strippers. Proper treatment levels for Styrex 310 depend on

storage and handling

Styrex 310 must be stored in Corrosion Resistant
Alloys Only. Do not store this product with low grade
metals including carbon steel and copper. Addition-
ally, this product’s storage and injection system must
be kept entirely separate from all other chemicals
including STYREX II.

Nitrogen blanketing on storage tank is preferred to
extend product shelf life. When sizing the storage tank,
50-60 days of working inventory is a good rule of
thumb/practice.
For low volume applications, this product will be
delivered and stored in non-returnable bins (either
clear or pigment color). To minimize product
degradation, avoid storage in direct sunlight. Either
store in warehouse or cover unopened bins with a tarp.

evaluation
For best unit performance, the SUEZ program must be
conscientiously monitored by periodic recording of
system control parameters such as polymer forma-
tion, chest pressures, and temperatures.
