 Pan-Indian network to distribute piped gas will be up and running by 2015, with 8,000

km of the grid under development and the government approving nine additional
pipeline. National gas grid to be ready by 2015

 Southern gas grid to come up by 2012

 India expects investments worth Rs.455 billion in the gas pipeline sector in the next four
years, said an industry lobby report, released here Tuesday.

IGL FACT SHEET

 To meet the increased demand, IGL has already entered into gas sourcing arrangements
with RIL and GAIL for additional capacities.

 IGL has recently tied up for KG gas and engaged with BPCL and GAIL

 IGL recently got license to operate in neighbouring city Ghaziabad

 PNG sales grew by 27 per cent over the last one year compared to CNG sales of 20 per
cent. With estimated LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) connections of around 40 lakh in
Delhi and cost advantage that PNG enjoys over LPG has been driving up the volumes for
the company.

 The government will be introducing around 2,000 high capacity buses and 20,000 radio
taxis to strengthen the transport infrastructure. As a result, CNG volumes are expected to
increase by about 25 per cent in time for the start of the games, compared to 19-20 per
cent as of now.

 The company is also enhancing its compression capacity from the present 26.76 lakh kg
per day to around 30-35 lakh kg per day

 IGL has marketing exclusivity in the NCR only until December 2011.

 The company has earmarked around Rs 500 crore for setting up CNG stations, new PNG
connections and expansion into regions like Noida and Ghaziabad.

 To meet the growing demand from these regions including Delhi, in last financial year,
IGL set up 60 stations. Another 39 are in different stages of development. By March next
year, the company hopes to have 280.

 IGL have 190,000 piped natural gas connections across Delhi and NCR. We plan to give
60,000-70,000 new connections every year in Delhi and 10,000-15,000 in NCR.

India offers 34 oil & gas blocks for exploration

India today offered 34 oil and gas blocks for exploration in the 9th round of New Exploration Licensing
Policy (NELP)."Government is offering 34 blocks covering an area of 88,807 square km," Petroleum
Minister Murli Deora said

"Last date for bidding for blocks offered under NELP-IX is March 18, 2011," he added. The blocks offered
include 8 deep-sea, 7 shallow water and 19 onland, Deora said. The onland blocks include 8 small blocks
for which there is technical qualifying criteria for companies to bid.

In the eight rounds of NELP since 1999, 235 blocks have been awarded till date. This has resulted in
enhancement of exploration coverage from 11 per cent to about 58 per cent of Indian sedimentary basin
between 2000 and 2010.

"The discoveries made under the NELP have resulted in in-place hydrocarbon reserve accretion of a
staggering 642 million tons of oil and oil equivalent gas," Deora said. A total of 87 oil and gas discoveries
have been made in 26 blocks under NELP during this period. Out of 81 oil and gas discoveries, natural
gas production in Reliance Industries eastern offshore KG-D6 block commenced from April 2009.

The 8th round, which closed on October 12, 2009 attracted investment commitment of USD 1.34 billion
for 36 blocks that received offers. Under NELP-VIII, 70 areas or blocks for exploration were offered, the
biggest licensing round in India. Of the 36 areas bid for, the government had awarded 33 blocks to
successful bidders.
