Notes:

If you want to establish a connection

to the BTS site locally, connect the
PC to the LMP port on the System
Module (FSM) using 10baseT
Ethernet cable with RJ-45 connector.
In a remote connection, the
connection is established via DCN
network.

If the PC is connected to the FSM

LMP port, specify your PC's network
settings to match the following
settings: IP address:
192.168.255.130, Subnet mask:
255.255.255.0.

Define WCDMA Carrier
Candidates
In the Commissioning – WCDMA
Carrier Candidates you can define
WCDMA carrier frequencies. The
allowed UTRAN Absolute Radio
Frequency Channel Number
(UARFCN) values for frequency
bands are displayed below the Carrier
Candidate table.
The carrier candidates are used in
testing purposes. After
commissioning, when the BTS is
entered in the Test Dedicated state,
you can run different test models,
BER test, site tests and WCDMA BTS
loop test. The parameter uses the so-
called UARFCN convention defined in
the IUB specification. The UARFCN
values are operator specific and
defined by the 3GPP. The parameter
specifies the downlink frequency.

30 © Nokia Siemens Networks Presentation / Date

Define UARFCN
1. Enter the UARFCN for each local
cell in the UARFCN column.
1. At least one carrier must be
defined for a frequency band; up
to four different values can be
defined for each frequency
band. The frequencies are
calculated according to the
entered channel numbers and
displayed in the Frequency MHz
column.

VSWR measurement. The fixed
limit for a minor VSWR alarm
activation is 1.9, and for a major
VSWR alarm activation 2.6. This
integrated HW based functionality
can be activated by downloading
a valid license to the BTS. Also,
you need to have a license in
order to the MHA support to work.
For more information on licenses,
