Aim:
To create unity, integrity, honesty, fraternity, friendship and the
true spirit of competition among the students of the regional
schools of the ASISC.

Objective:
Ø To inculcate in the young minds the spirit of healthy
competition while exhibiting their talents and potentials.
Ø To help the students develop an integral personality and
bring out the best in them so as to ensure a bright future for
them.

Means:
Providing platforms for various sports and literary competitions
conducted annually, facilitating a healthy mental, physical and
psychological exposure.

RULES AND REGULATIONS


These are essential to conduct the national events smoothly and successfully. The
Executive Committee of the ASISC has formulated the following rules and regulations by
incorporating the rules and regulations of various sports and games federations of
India. These should be strictly adhered to by the host regions of the national events and
the participants.
A. Categories
There shall be ive categories:
i) Junior Boys
ii) Junior Girls
iii) Senior Boys
iv) Senior Girls
v) Open Category (Girls / Boys)
B. Eligibility
a) Age & Status:
(I) Juniors: Girls and boys born on or after 01/04/2001 and are
students up to the ICSE level.
(ii) Seniors: Girls and boys born on or after 01/04/1999 and are
students in the ISC level.
(iii) Open Category : Girls and Boys born on or after 01/04/1999
b) Membership: Participants must be CISCE students from the member
schools of both the Regional and National Associations of the ASISC.
c) Documents for veri ication:
(i) Juniors: Photo af ixed school ID card with the DOB and the class of study
certi ied by the school Principal.
(ii) Seniors: Photo af ixed school ID card with the DOB and the class of study
certi ied by the school Principal.
C. General Rules and Guidelines
1. Participants must always have the personal photo identity card, with the
Date of Birth and the class of study duly mentioned on it. The same must be
presented for scrutiny as and when required.
2. The Eligibility Forms of the participants duly completed must be certi ied
and forwarded by the regional secretaries.
3. The inal entries for each event must reach the host 7 days in advance.
4. The participants/ teams must report and depart as per the schedule of the
events. The travel details must be informed to the Host well in advance for
better arrangements. Any early arrivals or delayed departures will not be
the responsibility of the Host.
5. Parents of the participants are not allowed as escorting of icials; neither
will they be permitted to enter the venue except in the capacity of a
spectator.

6. Only those escorts approved by the regional secretaries will be permitted to


act on behalf of the participants.
7. Any other escorts other than the manager and the coaches approved by the
ASISC will not be catered to by the Host.
8. The schedule and venues of the sports and literary events are the
prerogative of the national executive committee of the ASISC.
9. Only the Executive Committee of the ASISC has the authority to amend,
modify, change, annul or interpret the rules, regulations and guidelines
given in this “Hand Book” of national events.
D. General rules for Sports events
1. Sports events will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of the
various sports bodies in the country. Yet, in case of necessity, rules may be
adapted as per the local needs and situations with the approval of the
Sports Committee of the ASISC.
2. The team manager should be present in the meeting of the managers.
3. Fixtures will be inalized in the managers' meeting.
4. The teams with managers and coaches must report to the of icials thirty
minutes before the schedule of the matches.
5. The team that does not report on time will be disquali ied after waiting for
20 minutes from the scheduled time and the opponent will get a 'walk –
over'
6. The managers and coaches must ensure the discipline of their respective
teams for the smooth conduct of the games.
7. Each team should have its own proper colour as speci ied by the ASISC and
the kit as per the requirement of the game in question.
8. Every member of the team will be compulsorily veri ied and the eligibility
approved by the of icials prior to the commencement of each match.
9. The ASISC, in consultation with the Regional Secretary and the Host, shall
constitute an Organizing Committee for each event.
10. The Regional Secretary and the Host shall form a team of well quali ied
of icials for the conduct of the events in question. Any incompetent of icial,
if found, should be replaced forthwith.
11. There shall be a three member Jury of Appeal consisting of a member of the
ASISC national executive and two persons of knowledge and expertise from
the place of the event.
12. The Jury of Appeal will deal with all matters of disputes and settle them
amicably in all fairness and justice. Its decision shall be inal and binding.
13. All matters of dispute must be iled in writing endorsed by the manager
and the coach with a fee of Rs. 1000/- within 10 minutes of the
announcement of the result of the event in question. If the appeal is upheld
50% of the deposit will be refunded; if not, the total amount will be

forfeited. Participants are not permitted to appeal to the jury directly.


14. It is mandatory for all the participants in proper designated colours.
15. The manager or the coach has to take part in the opening and the closing
ceremonies of the Athletic Meet with their respective regional lags.
16. Participants, coaches, manager or even the whole team may be
disquali ied or debarred for the following:
a) Gross indiscipline in and around the venue.
b) Wilful destruction of property.
c) Misrepresentation.
d) Delay tactics.
e) Not reporting on stipulated time.
f) Consumption of alcohol and other banned substances, smoking,
indecency in words and behaviour etc.
g) Harassment or disturbance of fellow participants.
E. Points Table - for Athletic Meet
Gold Medal – 1st Position – ive points
Silver Medal – 2nd Position – three points
Bronze Medal – 3rd Position – one point
Note: In case of a 'tie' for any position the points will be awarded equally.
Awards & Certi icates
a) Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the First, Second & Third
positions respectively.
b) Merit Certi icate for the winners and participation certi icates for
the rest. Both merit and participation certi icates will not be
awarded to the same participant.
c) While preparing the certi icates the details given in the Eligibility
Form will be considered as inal.
F. Individual & Team championships
1) Athletics: i. Best athlete in each category. (4)
ii. Championship in each category. (4)
iii. Overall Champion. (1)
2) Badminton: Team Championship in each category. (4)
3) Basketball: Team Championship in each category. (4)
4) Cricket: Team Championship. (1)
5) Football: Team Championship in each category (2)
6) Hockey: Team Championship (1)
7) Lawn Tennis: Team Championship in each category. (4)
8) Swimming: i. Best swimmer in each category. (4)
ii. Team Championship in each category. (4)
iii. Overall Champions. (1)

9) Volleyball: Team Championship (2)


10) Athletics overall Championship will be decided taking into account the
total number of points scored by the participants. The same will apply to
decide the team championships in each category.
11) In case of a 'tie' in championships the same will be broken by taking into
account the number of Gold medals awarded. If it remains inconclusive,
then the Silver medals awarded will be considered and so on.
12) Participants should be prepared for any eventuality during the events such
as injury, postponement, change in schedule, collision in schedule, bad
weather etc.
13) No participant is to be absent from the venue even if his/her event is not
scheduled. Changes will be noti ied only through the P/A system. No
protest will be accepted for missing an event due to unforeseen situations.
14) Teams must adhere to the daily time table for meals etc. without fail.
15) Any shopping, sightseeing etc. will be the sole responsibility of the team
escorts only.
16) Team Escorts: Team Manager – 1
One coach each for each category.
Any other escorts other than the above mentioned will be charged
separately as per the rates decided by the Organizing Committee.
17) All the games will be conducted on a “league cum knockout” format. The
rules may be adjusted to facilitate the league rounds but not the semi
inals and inals.

H. Sports Events and their speci ic rules.


ATHLETICS (for all categories)
a) Only two participants in each event can take part from a region in each
category.
b) One participant can take part in a maximum of three events only,
excluding the Relay.
c) To be eligible for athletic championship one should have participated
both in track and ield events.
d) Events for the National Athletic Meet :
(i) Track events for Boys: 100mtr, 200mtr, 400mtr, 800mtr, 1500mtr,
100mtr Hurdles, 5km walk & 4 x 100mtr Relay.
(ii) Field events for Boys: Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Shot –
put, Discus Throw & Javelin Throw.
(iii) Track events for girls: 100mtr, 200mtr, 400mtr, 800mtr,
100mtr Hurdles, 3km walk & 4 x 100mtr Relay.
(iv) Field events for girls: Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Shot –
put, Discus Throw & Javelin Throw.

h) All the competitors will be provided with two sets of chest numbers to be worn
visibly on his/her chest and back. The size of the numbers shall not exceed 150 mm
x 25 mm.
I) The Participants should report to the Reporting Booth at the irst call. After the
third call, no participant will be allowed to participate in that event. In case a
participant is unable to report to the reporting booth for a valid reason, he/she
should obtain prior permission from the of icials through the manager.
j) The Referee and the of icials in charge of conducting the events should brief the
participants before the commencement of each event. They should clearly instruct
the participants regarding the track or lane rules, changing the track, pushing or

tripping the competitors which will eventually lead to disquali ication from a
particular event or events.
k) Some of the events require heats to select the participants for the inals. The
timings, and not the position at the heats, will decide the quali iers for the inals.
l) The track umpires are assistants to the referee, without the power of decision.
m) The participants may use spikes and starters. No participant will be
allowed to run bare – foot.

BADMINTON (For all categories)


a. The game will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of AIBA (All India
Badminton Association). However, the rules may be changed according to the
Local needs and situations.
b. Two Singles and one Doubles will be conducted for each category.
c. One player cannot play both the games, i.e. singles and doubles.
d. Each team will consist of minimum three & a maximum of ive members.
e. Every participant must observe the dress code and colour as per the respective
regions. T-shirt with collar, shorts, badminton skirt for girls, non-marking
badminton shoes, personal badminton racquets etc must be taken care of.
f. All the players should be ready to play in lood lights, if required.
g. The competition is between teams and not individual players.
h. The format of matches: One Singles and one Doubles compulsorily, and then
Singles, if required.
i. The winning team will be decided on the basis of “best of three' games.

BASKETBALL (For all categories)


a. The game will be conducted according to the rules of the BFI (Basketball
Federation of India). However, rules may be changed according to the local
needs and situations.
b. Total team will consist of 12 players.
c. The team must carry a full size basketball while reporting for the match.
d. Every team must follow the regional colour and the dress code.

FOOTBALL (For Boys of both categories)


a. The game will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of AIFF (All India
Football Federation). However, the rules may be changed according to the Local
needs and situations.
b. Total team will consist of 16 players, inclusive of the goal keeper.
c. Every team must follow the dress code & colour as per the respective regions.
Team jersey, shorts, shin guards with socks and studded boots make up the kit.
Only Goal keeper is permitted to wear gloves.
d. The duration of the match of icially is 90 minutes; divided into two 45 minutes
halves with an interval of 5 minutes. If required 30 minutes extra time will be
given; 15 minutes of two halves.
e. Each team must carry a full size football while reporting for the match.
f. There will be two teams one of Jr. Boys & one of Sr. Boys.

HOCKEY (Open category for Boys)


a. The game will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of IHF (Indian
Hockey Federation). However, the rules may be changed according to the Local
needs and situations.
b. The duration of the match of icially lasts for 70 minutes; two halves of 35
minutes each with an interval of 5 minutes. Extra time will be given - 15 minutes
of two halves each, if required.
c. The total team will consist of 16 players, inclusive of the goal keeper.
d. Every team must adhere to the dress code and the kit proper.
e. There shall be only one team comprising of players from both categories.
LAWN TENNIS (For all categories)
a. The game will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of AITF (All India
Tennis Federation). However, the rules may be changed according to the Local
needs and situations.
b. Two Singles and one Doubles will be conducted for each category.
c. Each team will consist of minimum three & a maximum of ive players.

d. One player cannot play both the games, i.e. Singles and Doubles.
e. Every participant must follow the dress code, colour as per the respective Region
T-shirt with collar, shorts, Tennis Skirt for girls, non-marking tennis shoes,
personal tennis racquets etc must be taken care of.
f. All the players should be ready to play in lood lights, if needed.
g. The competition is between teams and not individual players.
j. The format of matches: One Singles and one Doubles compulsorily, and then
Singles, if required.
h. The winning team will be decided on the basis of “best of three'' games.

T20 CRICKET (Open category for Boys)


a. The game will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of BCCI (Board of
Control for Cricket in India). However, the rules may be changed according to the
Local needs and situations.
b. All matches will be played in T – 20 format.
c. Every participant must follow the dress code as per the Regional colour.
d. The total team will be of 16 members inclusive of the wicket keeper.
e. Matches may be played in day-night schedule, if required.
f. Only the match balls will be supplied by the Host. Personal kit for the matches will
be brought by the respective teams/players.
g. In the league round, matches will be played of 12 overs a side; Semi – inals and
inals will be of 20 overs a side.

SWIMMING: (For all categories)


a. Only two participants each from the region in each category in each event.
b. A participant can compete only in 3 events excluding the Freestyle relay.
c. To be eligible for individual championship one will have to participate in
different strokes.
d. The costumes of all competitors and trainers shall be in good moral taste. They
must be non – transparent.
e. The Referee has the authority to exclude any competitor, whose costume does not
con irm to this standard.
f. There shall be a Technical Committee to oversee the smooth conduct of the
competition.
g. Duties of the Technical Committee:
i. To ensure the rules for swimming and implement them as per the SFI
(Swimming Federation of India).
ii. To ensure the speci ications of the pool as per the national standard.
iii. To ensure that the participants have suitable swimming suit, chest numbers
and the lanes for the competition.
iv. To deal with any dispute or indiscipline during the event.

v. To provide emergency medical aid for the participants.


vi. To ensure that the event is conducted by quali ied of icials.
vii. To ensure the accurate distance for all the events in the respective
disciplines.
viii. To ensure that there are referees for each lane so as to avoid any disputes.
ix. To ensure that the time keeper keeps the record of the timings clocked
during the competition and displays them on the display board.
x. To ensure that disputes, if any, are submitted to the Jury of Appeal in the
proper way.
h. Disquali ication,if any, can be made only by the of icial in-charge for a valid and
grave reason.
i. A swimmer is not permitted to wear any device or use any substance, which may
help his/her speed or buoyancy.
j. Goggles may be worn and rubdown oil applied for safety measures, if approved by
the Referee.
k. The participants cannot grasp the lane dividers to assist his/her forward motion.
l. Of icials:

VOLLEYBALL (Open category for boys & girls)


a. The game will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of VFI (Volleyball
Federation of India). However, the rules may be changed according to the Local
needs and situations.
b. Every participant must follow the full dress code, as per the regional colour.
c. Every region can present two teams only: one of boys and one of girls.
d. Competition is opened to both categories of boys & girls.
e. Each team will consist of 12 players.
f. The team must carry a full size volleyball while reporting for the match.
g. Each set will be of 21 points relay and each match best of 3 sets.

REGIONAL COLOURS
1. Andhra Pradesh : Purple with white stripes
2. Bihar & Jharkhand : Sky Blue with white stripes
3. Karnataka : Red with white stripes
4. Kerala : Maroon with white stripes
5. Maharashtra, MP & Goa : Orange with navy blue stripes
6. North India : Grey with white stripes
7. North West : Brown with white stripes
8. Odhisha & Chhattisgarh : Parrot Green with white stripes
9. Tamil Nadu : Navy Blue with white stripes
10. UP & UK : Yellow with maroon stripes
11. West Bengal & North East : Bottle Green with maroon stripes

LITERARY EVENTS
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. All competitions will be held in two categories:-
Juniors - Students up to X (No separate groups for boys
Seniors - Students of XI & XII & girls)
2. Only the winners of each category from the respective regions will participate in the
national competition.
3. All the participants must register themselves in the previous evening, of the event.
4. Participants will not be allowed to go out of the premises on their own for visiting or
shopping etc.
5. Out-station participants must furnish their travel details to the organizer, so that
arrangements for transportation can be made on time.
6. Participants must be present for the meals on time.
7. Separate lodging facilities for boys and girls will be provided.
8. Participation Certi icates will be awarded to all participants.
9. Winners of the First, Second and Third positions will be awarded Merit Certi icates and
Medals.
10. A panel of judges will compile all the results. The decision of the judges will be inal and
binding.

DEBATE
Speci ic Rules:
1. Participants should avoid reading from a previously prepared script, any paper or aid;
however short notes are permitted.
2. The format of the debate will be of “Frank Anthony Memorial Debate” of the Council.
3. Each region can present only two participants each in each category - one to speak 'for
the motion' and the other, 'against' the motion.
4. The order of speech will be decided on the spot by draw of lots. However, the speakers
who initiate both the motions will get two extra minutes each to wind up the debate
after all the speakers have inished their turn.
5. Each speaker will get four minutes to speak. At the end of the third minute, a warning
bell will be rung. The inal bell will be sounded at the end of the fourth minute. The
speaker, exceeding the time limit, will be penalized.
6. All participants must be in formal wear without any identi ication marks.
7. The speakers will address the chair only. Un-parliamentary language, personal
comments or observations on any religion, caste, community, political party or
individual are not allowed; the matter should be limited to the topic only. Such
violations may lead to disquali ication.
8. Marks awarded by individual judges will be added up for each speaker; and then for
each team.

9. A lively rebuttal/refutation for approximately two minutes will follow each speech
with interjections from the participants.
10. Speakers will be adjudged for subject matter, diction, delivery, pronunciation,
language, presentation and rebuttal.

DECLAMATION

Speci ic Rules:
1. Each region can present one participant each per category.
2. Time allotted is four minutes. Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time.
3. Choice of passage is left to the participants but no passage from ictions or dramas is
permitted.
4. Participants should commit the passage to memory. They will not be permitted to read
out from a previously prepared script, any paper or aid.
5. Marks awarded by individual judges will be added up for each speaker.
6. The speaker will be adjudged on the basis of Diction, pronunciation, gestures,
emotions, intonation and overall presentation.
7. Participants should be in formal wear without any identi ication marks.

CREATIVE WRITING

Speci ic Rules:
1. Each region can present one participant each per category.
2. Only the writing paper will be provided by the host.
3. Essays/stories/poems etc should be written neatly on one side of the paper, leaving
suf icient margin.
4. The creative writing should not exceed more than 500 words.
5. The participants will be given a choice of topics on the spot.
6. The initial half hour will be for preparation; participants are not to write during this
planning session.
7. The participants will be given an hour and a half to write down the essay/story/ poem
after the planning session.
8. The work will be adjudged on the basis of content, language, style and creativity.
9. Marks awarded by individual judges will be added up for each participant.

DRAWING & PAINTING

Speci ic Rules:
1. Each region can present one participant each in each category
2. Topic will be given on the spot.
3. Ivory sheets of 28”x22” size will be provided by the host.
4. Acrylic or poster colours to be used.
5. The time allotted will be one day: i.e. 09:00am – 03:00pm.
6. Participant is expected to present a creative and attractive composition to bring out the
theme of the topic.
7. Participant is required to bring one's own colours, tools and other accessories.
8. Marks will be awarded for composition, creativity, colour scheme, and
interpretation of the theme.
9. Paintings will be exhibited during the Annual Conference of the Heads of Schools of the
ASISC and thereafter put on sale.

QUIZ

Speci ic Rules:
1. A team of two participants each in each category, from each region can participate.
2. The time allotted is one day.
3. There will not be any written elimination.
4. All the teams will have oral contest, which may include elimination.
Oral contest depends upon the number of teams.
5. The Quiz will comprise of various rounds on various topics.
