Kashyapa Hora - Small Introduction

Kashyapa Hora is an ancient predictive astrological method developed by Maharshi Kashyapa, the son of Marichi. It uses the hora lord of the day and time of a horoscope to make predictions. Each day of the week is governed by a different planet as the hora lord. Planets also represent different karakatwas or influences over physical and material aspects of life, such as the sun governing royalty and the father. Kashyapa Hora considers the sunrise time and location to accurately assess the hora lord and make predictions.

Kashyapa Hora - Basics

Maharshi Kashyapa is son of Marichi and Kala Devi. Marichi is son of Lord Brahma. Kashyapa is a great
predictional astrological method. As per Sri RG Rao in his book “ Nadi system of is found to be of utmost
value and Kashyapa Hora stands to be the greatest method for obtaining greater results as far as
predictional part of Astrological Science is concerned”.

Hora is derived from ‘Aho – Ratri’, which stands for Day and Night. Zodiac has 12 signs. For 24 hours we
have 24 horas.

In Kashyapa Hora, each day of the week is specified by a Hora lord. First hour of the day is governed by
the lord of the hora. Thereafter each hour from the time of the Sunrise would be governed by subsequent
hora lord. It is important to ensure that you take the sunrise time of the location from where the prediction
would be made. This is extremely important to ensure correctness of the prediction.
