2. Wine making

5. Geyser eruption
Water from rain or melted snow percolates into the ground through cracks. The water is
heated by the underlying rocks to temperatures well above the boiling point. The water does
not boil. It becomes superheated. It also becomes pressurized. The water bursts out of the
ground in an explosive steam eruption.
