RECREATIONAL
CENTRE
INTRODUCTION:
Community recreational centre supports social, cultural, physical,
entertainment activities for all ages, indoors and outdoor community
recreation centre offer many programs in order to meet the complete
recreational needs of all people in the community that benefit both body and
mind it provides a platform for interaction, relaxation and amusement and also
it offers a junction for tourism, sports and cultural development

NEED FOR TOPIC:


 Sports have been given secondary importance particularly in huge
metropolitian cities this is due to lack of sufficient and proper
facilities due to hectic lives we are living increase in migration rate
causes overcrowding and reduction in open spaces
 The people have still not realized the importance of sports in their
lives and hence no initiative is taken by them .while other countries
have progressed by leaps and bounds, indian sports are still far
behind
 Talented young generation has to remain satisfied within the
building courtyards a place like recreational club would cater to an
important aspect of human life it would open the door to another
dimension for metropolitian cities, so respectfully ignored and
neglected by majority
 In cities we have a lot of talented youngsters but the facilities are
lacking at that level a lot of talent is present in junior and subjunior
level they are our future and we should promote the games at these
levels in order to spot talent
 Its designing not only involve spatial design but also structural
design is given equal weightage another aspect is to consider
various services involved

AIM& OBJECTIVE:
 To design in environmentally modern style architecture form follows
function
 To understand the behavioural pattern of users and to create an
appropriate user movement
 To identify appropriate environment for individual activities
 Idea is to provide people with more interaction platforms before
mankind completely loses the ability to communicate with one
another
 Providing for open spaces lost in a neighbourhood that is constantly
getting denser owing to increased industrial &commercial activities
due to increased congestion and a denser neighbourhood
 Resolving the urban conflicts and the needs to address not just
development but paying heeds to the daily needs of community

SCOPE:
 To understand the various aspects of movement study of
psychological aspects, visual aspects,& physical aspects
 To understand the relationship of a space functional space,
circulation space, landscape spaces, services space
 To study the anthropometric datas
 The recreational centre to be designed functionally to make possible
a varied program of activities for all ages and to meet the needs of
all people in neighbourhood and communities to provide a safe,
healthful and attractive atmosphere in which every person in
community has the opportunity to enjoy his leisure by participant in
activities of social, culture, creative or physical nature

METHODOLOGY:
 Methodology of study to be carried out data collection, literature
study, case study, site analysis, detail drawings, 3d views and
models

 The main purpose for proposing site at Chennai is because
there is no such recreation club of all facilities
 Site = approx 11acres
 Site proximity nearby 4 bus stop, chettinadu, hospital,
hotels
 Peaceful environment and main attractions of tourist place
