He will always fear Allah and never be arrogant about his relationship (to me). He
will neither put a stone over another stone nor whip anyone unless it is just and do
the execution of punishment. Through him Allah will annihilate innovations and
seditions, open the door of truth, close the doors of falsehood, and let the Muslim
captives- from whatever region they come,- return to their respective motherlands."

nobody will be able to find a place of shelter. These woes will move around Ash-
Shām, fall upon Iraq and tie the hands and feet of the Arabian Peninsula. A group
of Muslims will fight against troubles in the steppes. Nobody will feel any

the woes will emerge again on the other side." Muntakhab Kanzul Ummal, vol. 5

of Ash-Shām will neither receive any money nor grain." We asked him as to why
this would happen. He replied, "Because of the Romans (during Malhama, Second

Bakmaa (during it, no one will speak the truth), Amyaa (people will become
blinded, not seeing matters clearly). Whoever seeks it out, that trial seeks him out

Messenger of Allah, what is Harj?" He said, "(Harj is) Killing." Some of the Muslims
(who were present) said, "We fight now in one year so and so (number of)
mushrikoon (polytheists)." Prophet Muhammad, SAAS, said, "Not by fighting
Mushrikoon (polytheists), but rather by some of you killing each other, to the extent
that a man kills his neighbor, his cousin and his relative." Some people (who were

the world has gathered to feast around (to kill its people and rob its wealths). It's
Leader (Caliph Harith) will surrender the banner (will leave Iraq defenseless

beginning of this hadith) will be destroyed in the confrontation (battles between
Shua'ib Ibn Salih and Dhul Urf, when Shua'ib reconquers Iraq from Dhul Urf during
the rule of Imam Mahdi) at the end of time. The Leader (Az-Zuhri Ibn Al-Kulaiba,
Sufyāni III, when he rules Iraq) of the tiny nation (Iraq) will fight the army of the
Mahdi (Black Flags under the able leadership of The Mawla) and the same nation

The Opening from the Rear of the Caliphate:
Imam Ali said, " The Sufyāni (Dhul Urf) will overcome Syria. Then between them
there will be a battle in Qirqisia until the birds of the air are filled and the savage
animals on the earth are filled with their perishing. Then an opening will occur (the
attack of Caliph Harith and his army of 12,000 leaving Iraq vulnerable to the attack
of Dhul Urf) and a group will come from them (Dhul Urf and his army towards Iraq)
until they enter the land of Khurasan (East/Iraq). The horses of the Sufyāni (Dhul
Urf) will come demanding the people of Khurasan, and they will slay the followers
of the family of Muhammad in Kufa, then the people of Khurasan will come

Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān
The man referred in the hadith can be Caliph Harith, General Mansur, or the
Saifullah that Allah will send forth during the time of Al-Qahtani on World War VI.
The three of them attack Baytul Maqdis and are all martyred. Caliph Harith and
General Mansur belong to the people of the East while the Saifullah belongs to the
people of the West. The eight months of war could refer to Al Malhama or World
War VI.
Ammar bin Yasir said, "Once the Pure Soul (i.e. Caliph Harith) and his brother

with equity and justice." Nua'im bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān
"So the Muslims' Caliph (Harith) who is Yemeni (rather Iraqi, or Khurasani, meaning
East) will be killed with three thousand Muslims, including seventy (70) princes,
each one is a commander of a battalion (brigade)... Muslims give bay'ah to a new
Caliph (Imam Al-Mahdi) and he commands them to pray the morning prayer. So
Allah will see them and descend victory for them and archangels Gabriel and
Michael will descend with other angels (to help the Muslims)...Allah defeats the
Romans." Nua'im bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān

thrown into the lowest part of the earth (or pushed back to Jordan, lowest part of
Ash-Shām). While these circumstances exist, the Sufyāni (Dhul Urf) will come with
three hundred and sixty men until he reaches Damascus. After a month he will be
followed by thirty thousand from Kalb (tribe). He will send an army to Iraq and kill
one hundred thousand in Az-Zawra. Then they (Dhul Urf's army) will go to Kufa
(when Caliph Harith attacks Baytul Maqdis/Constantinople) and pillage it. When
this occurs, a banner will come from the East, led by a man from Tamim called
Shua'ib Ibn Salih who will obtain the release of the people of Kufa and will defeat
them (Dhul Urf and his army)." Nua'im bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān
Ammar bin Yasir said, "When the Sufyāni (Dhul Urf, Sufyāni I) reaches Kufa and

The Commander of the Faithful said, "The Mahdi will appear with an army of at
least twelve thousand persons and a maximum number of fifteen thousand

Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān
Reported by Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudriy: "A man from my nation will come who speaks
with my Sunnah and Allah, the Mighty, the Glorified, will send showers of rain from
the heavens so that the earth will produce its blessing. Through him the earth will
be filled with fairness and justice just as it has been filled by oppression and
injustice. He will govern this nation for seven years, and go to Baytul Maqdis
(Jerusalem, to rule the Caliphate from it)." Abu Dawud, Tabarani, Al-Hākim,
Tirmidhi, Ahmad, Ibn Hibban, Muslim, Al-Barudi and Abu Nua'im
