Comments: It is my great pleasure to recommend Christa Maki for admission to this clinical residency. I have Christa
in my Med-Surg II (Critical Care) course for this semester and I am delighted to serve as a guide for her learning in
critical care at Grand Canyon University. During this semester, I have watched Christa integrate her critical thinking
and clinical reasoning skills as a student who excels in both her academic and personal pursuits. In class, I have
witnessed the use of her sound judgement and knowledge of concepts and critical rationale first hand. Christa uses
experiential learning as a bridge to keep practical teaching relevant with nursing concepts. Christa is a member of the
Student Nurses Association and has a minor in the Honors College on campus. She is an excellent communicator
and hard worker looking to expand her knowledge and skills with this residency opportunity in a pediatric critical care
setting. I recommend Christa for the residency program. I am confident that her leadership, compassion, and caring
practices will make an excellent addition to the clinical team and unit.
