SKILLS & ABILITIES
Clinical Experience
In level one of nursing school I was placed at Sun Tree Center which is an adult day
center for dementia patients. I was able to interact with them by performing daily
assessments, help the nurses with wound care and hygiene for the patients, and do
activities to provide brain stimulation. I was able to develop my therapeutic
communication skills at this facility.
In level two of nursing school I completed medical surgical nursing clinicals at Honor
Health Thompson Peak. I was given the opportunity to work on the medical surgical,
telemetry, and orthopedics floor. I was given many opportunities to work on my skills at
Honor Health. The nurses I were working with were passionate about teaching me. I
learned so much about prioritization, patient education, and applying skills learned in lab
to the clinical setting.
In level three of nursing school I have been given the opportunity to experience pediatric
nursing at Banner Desert Medical Center. I was able to work with nurses on the children’s
med surg floor and the pediatric emergency department. I was also able to experience
critical care nursing at Banner Boswell medical center where I experienced the ICU and
emergency department. I excelled in the fast paced, detail-oriented environment. Lastly, I
experienced obstetrics nursing at Mercy Gilbert hospital where I helped the nurses prepare
the mothers for C-section and care of them afterwards.
